Daejin Chemical Co., Ltd. (CEO Byeong-chan Lee) announced that it will participate in ‘K-PRINT 8’, which will be held at the 23nd exhibition hall of KINTEX in Ilsan from Wednesday, August 26 to Saturday, August 2.

Daejin Chemical received Korea’s first patent for manufacturing eco-friendly water-based gravure ink for film in 1971 thanks to the technology of Chairman Lee Kwang-mo, who developed water-based flexo ink in 2020, and also received green certification in 2022.

The ‘eco-friendly ESG water-based gravure ink’ to be introduced at this exhibition can be used on printing machines and copper plates that used oil-based ink. It contains no hazardous chemicals and is manufactured only with eco-friendly ingredients, and has been certified by ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals).

The company said about the ink, “It can print on all films and has superior workability over oil-based ink,” adding, “This allows for more accurate and clean printing.”

Until now, gravure ink printed on films has been used as an oil-based ink. The official explained that in order to respond to the fact that oil-based ink contains a large amount of harmful chemicals and the high carbon emissions from printing, the company developed an ink that can be used in existing oil-based ink printing machines.

In addition, DTF ink will be introduced at this exhibition. DTF ink was cited as an advantage in that it can be transferred to textiles without clogging the nozzles in a digital printer based on Daejin Chemical’s ink research know-how.

Daejin Chemical said, “We are a company with over 50 years of history in the water-based ink field. “Currently, many companies in Korea are using our products, and we are also exporting them overseas.”

Meanwhile, ‘K-PRINT 2023’ is the 26th International Printing Equipment Exhibition (KIPES 2023), Korea Label Exhibition (K-Label 2023), Korea Packaging Exhibition (K-PACK 2023), and Korea Digital Printing Solutions Exhibition (K-Label 2023). Digital Print 2023), Korea Textile Exhibition (K-Textile 2023), and Korea Sign & Advertisement Exhibition (K-Sign&AD 2023). The field of printing continues to evolve and innovate, opening a new blue ocean in various forms such as industrial printing and special printing. ‘K-PRINT XNUMX’, hosted by Korea E&X Co., Ltd. and the Korea Printing Culture Association, provides a place to look at the future vision and prospects of the printing industry at a glance.
