Inception Lab (CEO Eunbin Park) participated in the ‘6 International Advanced Medical Devices and Medical Industry Exhibition (KOAMEX 30)’ held at EXCO in Daegu for 7 days from Friday, June 2th to Sunday, July 3nd.

Inception Lab, which claims to be a ‘biotechnology-centered company for humanity’, is a domestic medical device company that has independently developed a bio-photonics-based pipeline since its establishment in 2020.

The company explains that bio-photonics technology, a technology to improve Alzheimer’s, has a therapeutic effect that improves memory by inducing hippocampal activity through light exposure, and can also minimize medical practice risks through the convergence of biology and detection technology.

At this exhibition, Inception Lab introduced its self-developed bedsore care device ‘Florence’. This was introduced as the first medical device that allows simultaneous diagnosis and treatment of pressure ulcers, and its unique impedance-based diagnostic system is characterized by providing accurate measurement results within a short period of 30 to 40 seconds.

The area on the skin that shows a difference in impedance value is judged to be a bedsore area, and bio-photonics is directly irradiated to this area to penetrate into the dermal tissue of the skin. As a result, it promotes the production of elastin and collagen in the patient’s skin tissue, helping to improve skin elasticity and regeneration. In addition, by carefully controlling the irradiation intensity of biophotonics, appropriate treatment according to the patient’s skin type is possible.

An Inception Lab official said, “This is a product that takes user convenience into consideration in many ways, such as being able to link the device and smartphone through a dedicated application, as well as intuitively knowing the progress of treatment with a built-in LED indicator.” He added, “When will Florence be available?” It is a product that can be easily used anywhere, eliminating the need for patients to be hospitalized for continuous treatment of bedsores. “This is an advantage that can greatly reduce the burden of hospitalization and treatment costs,” he added.

He continued, “Furthermore, since Florence’s impedance measurement enables the diagnosis and treatment of other skin diseases and problematic skin beyond bedsores, we expect that the scope of application will be able to expand wider after commercialization.”

Meanwhile, the main exhibition items of ‘KOAMEX 2023’ hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and K-MEDI Hub are as follows. △Diagnostic and diagnostic devices such as scanners, measuring devices, and imaging devices △Clinical and inspection devices △Surgical and recycling devices △Hospital facilities and emergency equipment △Medical devices, parts, and services △Pharmaceutical devices △Medical services, SW
