Repio Co., Ltd. (CEO Hong Chang-sik) participated in the ‘6 International Advanced Medical Equipment and Medical Industry Exhibition (KOAMEX 30)’ held at EXCO in Daegu for three days from June 7 (Fri) to July 2 (Sun).
Repio started as a small company distributing dental equipment in 1985 and has grown into a leading company that directly develops and produces products as a specialized company in the basic dental field.
Currently, it is recognized as a leading company in the domestic market, and is known to account for more than 60% of the domestic market supply in the base field for making prosthetics. More than half of domestic dentistry uses Retio products.
After securing a stable domestic market share, it started exporting to various countries including the US, Japan, and Europe in 2012. And now, the proportion of exports has greatly expanded to account for 35% of the total. In particular, exports to the US and Japan account for more than 60% of total exports, and the response of the market here, which is known for its strictness, is also known to be very good.
The background of such successful development was the constant effort and philosophy of CEO Hong Chang-shik. CEO Hong Chang-sik, who majored in dental engineering in college, listened to various voices around the industry for a long time, and developed and improved immediately if it was necessary in the field, even if it was trivial.
Since it provides what is needed in the industry before anyone else, it has become the identity of Rethio products before anyone knows it, and because it leads the market like this, it is said that there are many people who visit Rethio without fail at academic conferences and exhibitions targeting dental technicians.
The company name Repio also reflected the philosophy of CEO Hong Chang-shik. It started with the name ‘Bowon Chijae’ and changed its name to Bowon Dental. Since 2015, it has been using the name LEPIO, which is a combination of Lead and Pioneer.
Both words connote the meaning of ‘leading’, and Pioneer has the meaning of ‘pioneer’ and ‘pioneer’, reflecting CEO Hong Chang-sik’s philosophy of “Research, develop, and pioneer ahead”.
Repio moved its headquarters to an advanced medical complex in Daegu in 2014 and expanded its research center in 2018. Daegu High-tech Medical Complex (hereafter Cheombok Complex) is recognized as the center of Korea’s medical industry-related research center and R&D field.
After moving to the high-tech complex, Repio developed technology and grew faster. This is because the exchange of information and technology and support in various fields have created an incomparably virtuous cycle in the high-tech complex.
In this exhibition, 7 companies in the advanced complex, including Ratio, participated as KMEDI HUB joint pavilions. CEO Hong Chang-sik is currently serving as the chairman of the resident company council in the high-tech complex, and as the chairman of the resident company council, he also expressed the difficulties of resident companies.
It is about regulations that need to be relaxed and resolved quickly, but it is said that there are many issues that urgently need to be resolved, including pending agenda in the National Assembly.
