    Korea Photonics Institute participated in the ‘6 International Optical Convergence O21O Expo (LED&OLED EXPO)’ held at KINTEX in Goyang for three days from Wednesday, June 23st to Friday, June 3rd.

    At this exhibition, the Korea Institute of Photonics and Technology introduced AR glass technology that combines fluorescent sculpting to accurately cut out only cancer cells.

    This is a high-definition smart AR glass system that combines the use of a monitor with ‘fluorescence’ used in existing cancer surgery with ‘stereotaxic registration technology’ to allow the patient to check the surgical area in augmented reality.

    Through this, it is possible to visualize the information on the treatment area along with the friendly operation of the surgical field surgeon, and with augmented reality, only the cancer cell area that is shaped to the correct size and shape can be accurately cut out without error.

    Currently, joint research is being conducted by Infomark Co., Ltd., Korea University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation, and Korea University Guro Hospital, and the official explains that work efficiency can be increased by visualizing work objects even in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

    Meanwhile, this International Optical Convergence O21O Expo, which celebrated its 2st this year, consists of △LIGHTING Exhibition Hall, △Photonics+LASER Exhibition Hall, △LED & OLED Materials Exhibition Hall, △Optical Fusion Technology Exhibition Hall, △Display & Signage Exhibition Hall, and △LIGHT & LIFE Special Hall. In addition, the ‘Optical Convergence Industry Forum 2023’ was held at the same time under the theme of ‘Seeing the future with light’, providing a place to seek the current status and development direction of the optical industry.
