MOTH participated in the ‘6th International Maritime and Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX 7)’ held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 9 in Busan from Wednesday, June 1th to Friday, June 13th.
Motsu is a company that designs and manufactures carbon composite propellers for ships. When a ship propeller rotates, it generates serious noise and corrosion due to cavitation, and it is important to create an optimal shape that does not cause such cavitation. Regarding this, Moth explained, “We are designing propellers that deliver the best performance and manufacturing them using high-strength composite materials.”
The composite propeller MPM-901, the main product introduced at this exhibition, is lighter and boasts higher strength than existing propellers as it is made of composite materials for special ships. A shape design with the highest level of CIS performance is applied, enabling high-speed operation in special ships and providing excellent low-observability capabilities.
An official said, “Moss products are propellers made from carbon composite materials and designed to meet the requirements of naval vessels. “Due to the nature of the material, it is lighter and stronger than a nickel-aluminum-bronze propeller, and is manufactured in a shape that can demonstrate the best cavitation performance, which is advantageous for the quietness of the ship.”
Meanwhile, MADEX 2023 is a ‘defense exhibition and government subsidy-supported exhibition (Korea Defense Industry Promotion Association)’ for publicity and export promotion of defense and export companies.
