[Las Vegas (USA) = AVING News] RECON Labs Co., Ltd. (CEO Seong-Hoon Seong) held ‘CES’ held in Las Vegas, USA for a total of 4 days from January 5th (Thursday) to 8th (Sunday, local time). 2023′ and introduced more advanced AI-based 3D creation technology and apps.

Recon Labs, a Naver D2SF investment company, has developed a service that allows anyone to easily create and utilize 3D and AR content. Through its flagship service ‘PlicAR’, it helps e-commerce sellers sell their products as 3D and AR content and create digital showrooms and catalogs.

By recently signing a business agreement with KT Commerce, discussions are underway to expand the application of 3D and AR within the commerce platform, and work is underway to advance 3D content automation technology through a technology partnership with NVIDIA.

At this CES 2023, Recon Labs introduced ‘MetaRECON’, a 3D reconstruction AI engine service developed with various image-based AI technologies. Metaricon is based on its own 3D modeling algorithm based on ‘neural rendering’ that quickly and easily creates 3D models with quality close to real-life.

Additionally, as it is a SaaS-based service, it can be used without expensive equipment. It is designed to be distributed and processed within the cloud, and texture processing, which is important in 3D modeling, uses an algorithm that is re-implemented using deep learning obtained from images, providing realistic texture. As a result, the advantage was that users could do 3D modeling by simply taking a video without any additional work.

Seong-hoon Seong, CEO of Recon Labs, said, “If ‘Flicka’ is being used professionally in e-commerce-related industries, ‘Metaricon’ can be used in a variety of industries that require 3D modeling.”

He continued, “Through CES 2023, we have secured the needs of various industries such as games, movies, and metaverse platforms. Metaricon is scheduled to be officially launched in the first half of this year and will be introduced to the global market,” he said, adding, “We will develop the platform into a form that 3D artists can easily edit and create in the future.”

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
