Npac S&G Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Myung-soo) participated in the ‘6th International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX 7)’ held at Busan BEXCO Exhibition Hall 9 from June 1th (Wednesday) to 13th (Friday).

EnFac S&G is a joint subsidiary of Korea Maritime and Ocean University Technology Holdings and Enfac Korea Co., Ltd., and is a research institute that conducts research and product development jointly with Korea Maritime and Ocean University with the goal of manufacturing eco-friendly smart devices for ships. Enpac Korea is known as a company specializing in total engineering services for the environmental industry, such as ballast water treatment system (BWTS).

Npac S&G Co., Ltd. registered as a research institute company in December 2020 after receiving the patent ‘Smart air purifier for cabin and air quality improvement method using it’ by professor Lee Sang-deuk of Korea Maritime and Ocean University. It displayed ‘Smart Air Safe’, an air purification system for ships that can remove even fine dust.

SAS (Smart Air Safe), a ‘VIRUS FREE’ smart air purification system that removes viruses and fine dust in the air at once, directly sterilizes the air entering the duct. It was introduced as a product that protects users’ health from the risk of virus infection due to its special structure and provides clean and safe air.

It has antiviral effect, eradication of airborne bacteria, removal of volatile organic compounds, and deodorization of harmful substances. Maintenance is easy with easy attachment and detachment, and if an ICT-based smart monitoring system is added as an option, the functions of the SAS installed in each cabin can be controlled from one place.

It can be applied not only to ships in a closed environment, but also to land such as hospitals, schools, and large marts equipped with central air conditioning and heating systems, which can reduce the infection rate due to Corona 19 in crowded spaces.

An official from Npac S&G said, “Through the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), the airborne virus and airborne bacteria reduction rate was certified by up to 99.8%, and the deodorization rate of 5 major harmful substances (ammonia, toluene, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetic acid) was determined to be suitable. . In addition, on March 3, we received Approval In Principle (AIP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), proving our technological prowess.”

“We will lead the future shipbuilding market by presenting a vision as an eco-friendly ship global company and securing a competitive edge with the goal of developing technology to reduce the spread of the global issue of coronavirus. In addition, we will continue our efforts to improve the onboard environment for the health and safety of crew members and passengers.”
