[Las Vegas (USA) = AVING News] Gaudio Lab (CEO Oh Hyeon-oh), a company specializing in AI and metaverse audio, held a conference in Las Vegas, USA for a total of 4 days from January 5th (Thursday) to 8th (Sunday, local time). Participated in the open ‘CES 2023’.

Gaudio Lab, a Naver D2SF investment company, has 9 people with Ph.D.s in sound engineering, and won two CES 2023 Innovation Awards for ▲loudness management 1, LM1 ▲spatial audio technology (Gaudio Spatial Audio, GSA). It has proven its technology to lead the global audio industry.

Gaudio Lab set up a booth at Eureka Park (startup hall) at this exhibition, providing an opportunity to directly experience ▲ the world’s best sound source separation technology ▲ spatial audio technology that won the CES Innovation Award.

The strength of sound source separation technology is that it uses AI technology to separate the accompaniment and voice from the sound source, as well as cleanly separating each element such as drums, piano, and vocals. AI recognizes separated voices and quickly generates accurately synchronized lyrics, and this technology is currently being applied to the domestic music streaming platform ‘Bugs’.

Gaudio Lab’s spatial sound technology is a technology that gives a three-dimensional effect to sound so that users wearing earphones or headphones can enjoy content with a sense of reality.

Gookjin Lee, Vice President of Gaudio Lab, said, “Our ‘spatial sound technology’ provides a vivid sense of reality by post-processing existing images with the technology. “During the pandemic period when going out was restricted, we gave many users the feeling of being in the space and demonstrated our technology to the public,” he said. “After the pandemic, when going out became free, we expanded the use cases and applied it to movie theaters, live streaming, etc. “We look forward to revitalizing our technology.”

There is a general perception that expensive sound equipment is needed to enjoy immersive sound. In the past, you had to place many speakers in various directions to enjoy lively sound, but Gaudio Lab’s technology can also be installed on wireless earphones (TWS, True Wireless Stereo), providing accurate and natural spatial sound in accordance with the user’s head movements.

Vice President Lee said, “Metaverse is a virtual space that mirrors reality. “As video technology develops, sound technology must also develop in tandem to convey liveliness,” he said. “To provide a sense of realism, various sounds such as the sound of the wind, the sound of cars passing in the distance, and the sound of hot and cold fans must be mixed in one space to determine the direction and distance. It must be applied accordingly. “Our technology can provide users with the feeling of actually being in the content space they enjoy, whether it is a metaverse or a concert hall,” he explained.

He continued, “At this exhibition, American tech companies also visited our booth, and we are targeting the global market using CES 2023 as a stepping stone,” adding, “We have proven our global technological competitiveness by being adopted by international standards such as CTA/ANSI. “We hope that our technology will greatly contribute to the development of the global future content culture,” he said.

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
