BioDesign Lab participated in ‘BIO KOREA 5 (Bio Korea 10)’, which opened at COEX in Seoul for 12 days from Wednesday, May 3th to Friday, 2023th, and introduced a gene therapy development solution.
Biodesign Lab creates and develops a variety of new, highly effective biopharmaceuticals based on system-level gene and genome design. The approach selects useful building blocks from biomolecules and genetic fractions present in nature and screens genetic libraries to create artificial building blocks. Additionally, computational genetic and genomic models are used to design optimized connections of components for specific therapeutic purposes.
BDL (Bio Design Lab), introduced in this exhibition, is focusing on developing retroviral and lentiviral vectors in terms of transduction efficiency and safety with the goal of developing genes, cells, and immunotherapies.
By applying various genetic engineering approaches, the transduction efficiency can be greatly improved and the tumorigenicity of major viral vectors can be reduced severalfold. BDL is developing a variety of additional genetic platforms to accelerate advancements in genetic, cell and immunotherapies.
Meanwhile, ‘BIO KOREA 18’, which celebrated its 2023th anniversary this year, was hosted by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and Chungcheongbuk-do. BIO KOREA, which has been striving to improve the global status and sustainable growth of the Korean health industry since 2006, is solidifying its position as Korea’s representative biohealth international convention with the participation of world-class scholars and business experts every year. BIO KOREA 2023, in collaboration with companies related to the health industry such as domestic and foreign bio, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, and food, as well as interested companies and institutions such as consulting, academia, and related organizations, will be held through various programs such as conferences, business partnering, exhibitions, and investment fairs. It goes on.
