BYD Korea introduces new logistics equipment and eco-friendly logistics equipment vehicles suitable for the characteristics and space sizes of various work sites!

BYD, a global electric vehicle company headquartered in Shenzhen, China, independently produces core technologies across the entire automotive industry chain, including batteries, electric motors, electronic control devices, and semiconductors. In 2022, it sold approximately 186 million electric vehicles, establishing itself as a global electric vehicle leader. In addition to the automobile business, the company’s main businesses include electronics, new and renewable energy, and monorail in over 70 countries around the world. BYD Korea is a Korean subsidiary of BYD and has been providing after-sales services and sales of eco-friendly electric vehicle products such as electric forklifts, electric buses, and electric trucks since its establishment in 2016.

At this International Logistics Industry Fair, BYD set up a booth so that domestic customers could experience BYD’s various eco-friendly commercial vehicle models under the theme of the ‘Electrification of All Transportation Means’ strategy being developed globally. In particular, in addition to new logistics equipment being introduced for the first time in Korea, we have prepared eco-friendly logistics equipment vehicles suitable for the characteristics and space sizes of various work sites.

BYD produces its own core components, including batteries, motors, and electronic control devices, and boasts compatibility between components and product stability. In addition, the official explains that it is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery developed based on over 20 years of battery technology, so it is eco-friendly as it produces no harmful gases and helps reduce costs as it does not incur additional maintenance costs. In addition, it was emphasized that work efficiency is excellent as it can be used for a long time with a short charge. BYD Korea has a diverse lineup of logistics equipment, including 1.5 to 8-ton forklifts, pallets, and tow trucks that fit the size of the work space and site characteristics, from small spaces to large logistics warehouses.

BYD Korea displayed a total of four new vehicles at this exhibition, among which the mid-to-large 4-ton electric forklift is a model specialized for large logistics warehouses and boasts powerful performance commensurate with its overwhelming size. It provides spacious interior space and easy operation, helping to improve the driver’s work efficiency and productivity. The 8-ton standing electric forklift is a model that upgraded the design and specifications of the existing model by collecting opinions from Korean customers. It can move freely even in narrow passages or spaces, ensuring comfortable work performance. The two tow truck models exhibited together are optimized for long-distance travel at various work sites such as airports, terminals, and logistics centers, and provide stable driving performance and easy operation.

In addition, the 1-ton electric truck T4K was introduced through GS Global, the official importer. Regarding this, BYD Korea said, “GS Global is a company that represents Korea’s import and export industry. “We chose this strategy because the partnership between BYD, which has innovative technology and products, and GS, which has a high understanding of the local market, a stable network, and reliability, allows both companies to grow together through synergy,” he said.

GS Global unveiled T4K to general customers for the first time at the International Logistics Industry Exhibition, announcing its entry into the distribution logistics business and introducing the special benefits of the V2L (Vehicle to Load) function that supplies power to external sources. To introduce the practical V4L function of T2K, △Basic ‘T4K Cargo’ with loading box △’T4K Cold Keeper’, a refrigerated truck △’T25K CAFÉ’, a coffee truck 4)’ and attracted attention.

BYD Korea said, “In the domestic market, we have been conducting B2B-oriented business, so there are many people who do not know about BYD yet. Accordingly, we plan to focus on raising awareness by utilizing opportunities to promote BYD as a brand, such as participating in exhibitions. Forklifts are ‘necessities at work sites’ and trucks are ‘the support of self-employed people’. BYD’s diverse product lineup, ranging from buses to ‘citizens’ feet’, will approach us as a familiar brand that helps in our lives. At the same time, we plan to promote the brand more widely by actively communicating with customers through various channels, including online and offline.”

Autostore announces ‘Cube Storage Warehouse Automation System’, which simultaneously reduces space and improves work efficiency… “The optimal fulfillment solution for the e-commerce era!”

Founded in 1996, Autostore is a technology company that develops order fulfillment solutions that help businesses store and retrieve goods efficiently. Established in Nedre Vats, located on the west coast of Norway, it operates branches in 12 countries, including Korea, and is a global company with more than 49 systems installed in more than 1,150 countries. The company explains that its stability has been proven with a cumulative operation rate of 99.7% in various industries from distribution to manufacturing.

At this exhibition, the ‘Cube Storage Warehouse Automation System’ was introduced, which simultaneously reduces space and improves work efficiency. While the existing method involved workers directly picking items ordered by customers from warehouse shelves, the Auto Store system improves productivity by automatically delivering products ordered by customers to workers without the need for the robot to move around the shelves in search of products. It was introduced to maximize storage efficiency.

The cube-type automated warehouse consists of bins, grids, and robots that transport bins to ports, ports, and controllers. When plastic bins are piled up and organized within the grid, the robot moves along the rail at the top of the grid and retrieves the bins, which are then transported to the port where workers pick up the products and ship them out.

Jeon Ju-yong, head of the Auto Store design department, whom we met at the exhibition site, pointed out, “About 3/4 of the shelf rack storage area is in passages and empty space, and a significant portion of the expensive logistics area has been wasted in empty space on the shelves.” He added, “Our company Cube Logistics area is reduced by 75% by eliminating aisles and voids through storage. In other words, the same amount can be stored in 1/4 of the existing area,” he emphasized.

He continued, “In Korea, orders from e-commerce companies are currently increasing. Currently, some of Korea’s leading e-commerce companies have already introduced their solutions, and others are considering them. “As mentioned earlier, small business owners are also showing interest in the cube storage warehouse automation system because of its good space efficiency,” he explained.

In addition, Jeon Ju-yong, head of the design department, said, “Currently, GS Caltex is carrying out an MFC (Micro Fulfillment Center) logistics warehouse project at a gas station in Seocho-gu. The concept is to create a smart MFC in addition to existing gas station functions to provide daily logistics services such as storage and pick-up services for household goods. “We are implementing this by storing products in the Auto Store warehouse and ordering and picking them up directly from there, and a review and testing center is in progress.”
