JCF Technology (CEO Kim Jin-myeong) participated in the ‘4 World IT Show (WIS 19)’ held at COEX in Seoul from Wednesday, April 21th to Friday, April 2023st and introduced a non-contact radar sensor that detects falls. presented.
JCFTechnology Inc. is a company that manufactures non-face-to-face biosignal measurement devices and develops judgment algorithm software and platforms. It is currently developing non-contact biosignal measurement radar sensors and AI healthcare solutions. We are focusing on technology development, including holding 4 patent registrations for bio-signal radar technology and 3 PCT applications. It was selected as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service in 2022 and plans to conduct a pilot purchase in 2023.
By completing the innovative technology of the non-face-to-face, non-contact method, we will begin to promote the new healthcare paradigm and brand value to the global market starting this year. By 2025, we will obtain US FDA approval and provide a platform for healthcare, home medical care, industrial safety, and physical security markets. The goal is to expand technology.
The flagship product, McKare, is a non-contact radar sensor that can measure human body movement patterns using precise and fast-reacting thermal infrared rays, and detects falls through pattern analysis according to changes in movement. The company explains that this differentiates it from necklace-type or wrist-worn fall detection devices that detect the generation of operating force by stepping on an existing mat or use acceleration and tilt information according to the user’s movement to determine whether a fall has occurred.
An official said, “By measuring the human body’s breathing rate within 5 meters and heart rate within 2 meters, and observing apnea and heart rate abnormalities, movement and presence can be detected at the same time, and not only falls, but also whether biological signals are normal can be determined.” explained.

As a non-contact sensor, the fact that it supports Wi-Fi wireless communication and allows continuous monitoring 24 hours a day with low power consumption was also cited as an advantage. In addition, real-time monitoring is possible remotely without an on-site visit using dedicated platforms such as mobile apps and web dashboards, and in the event of a fall, an emergency notification is automatically sent to the designated guardian or related organization.
An official said, “For the elderly, the disabled, and those receiving home treatment, it is not easy to respond if an accident or emergency occurs while they are in the room and there is no caregiver. “In order to detect or quickly respond to such situations in advance, we have established a system that enables remote monitoring and sends notifications about the situation,” he said. “The phenomenon can be alleviated,” he said.
He continued, “We plan to demonstrate and expand the product targeting single-person households and those vulnerable to safety and care,” and added, “We are currently conducting demonstration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Gangnam-gu Office, and are expanding the demonstration project to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to obtain certification for the Middle East market. and export. “In addition, we will expand and export to Japan through verification targeting nursing facilities and hospitals,” he added.
Future plans were also revealed. An official said, “We will provide solutions tailored to needs such as falls and movement detection through the advancement and specialization of sensors tailored to the requests of each country and buyer. Through this, we will build and provide an individual database by accumulating life log data.” It was said.

Meanwhile, the ‘World IT Show’, a one-stop platform for digital transformation, is a representative exhibition leading the next-generation high-tech industry. The 2023 World IT Show, with the slogan ‘Changing our life, K-Digital’, will feature ▲AI platform, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, and ICT convergence services ▲Smart home, office, and home appliances. and smart healthcare ▲Intelligent mobility and robots such as autonomous driving, UAM, drones, etc. ▲Digital Twin & Metaverse (XR technology) ▲Cloud and software ▲Security software & Blockchain (NFT) ▲The latest technologies and products in the field of quantum information science Exhibited and introduced. In addition, the ‘WIS 2023 Innovation Award’ and the ‘2023 Korea ImpaCT-ech Grand Prize’ were awarded to the technologies and products that attracted the most attention among participating companies.
