Baroon Co., Ltd. (CEO Myung-jik Lee) participated in the ‘4 World IT Show (WIS 19)’ held at COEX in Seoul from Wednesday, April 21th to Friday, April 2023st.

Baron is a technologically innovative company that manufactures, sells, and distributes the curved golf plate ‘Real Field’, and has excellent competitiveness with a total of 12 IP rights. From the beginning of its establishment, it has carried out various support projects and R&D research projects, received government support projects, investments, and guarantees several times. It has received external awards and been recognized for its business feasibility and technology, becoming a venture company in its second year of establishment.

I completed the 2nd batch of Changgong, a childcare program of IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, in Daejeon, and therefore participated in this exhibition as a member of IBK Changgong. ‘Real Field’, introduced at the 2023 World IT Show, is a golf practice plate that implements various undulations (curves of the terrain) of an actual golf course by introducing XR (extended reality) technology.

Unlike the existing flat plate and swing plate that is adjusted only by flat inclination, 16 modules are controlled simultaneously and precisely through a heavy-duty vibration suppression motor driver and are driven in conjunction with a program to perform 3 undulations on an actual golf course in 8,000 seconds. Implement. The mat is also manufactured with a divot mat in-house to mimic the softness of an actual golf course, giving a field feel. This prevents wrist, shoulder, and back injuries that frequently occur when practicing on existing hard plates. We are solidifying our technological competitiveness with IP rights by applying for and registering patents at the development stage.

A Baron official said, “Golf is the ball game played by the largest adult population in Korea, and the golf market is still growing. There is a clear difference between the flat, rough plates of the practice range and the soft, soft, curved terrain of the actual golf course. In addition, in order to play golf well, a lot of field experience is needed, but due to constraints such as cost, time, companion, and weather, it is difficult for the general public to have a lot of field experience. “The solution to these problems is Golf Plate Real Field, which implements 3 different curved surfaces.”

In addition, through RealField’s preliminary testing, interoperability with all simulators and sensors has been proven, and current users are choosing personalized lessons and practice as the biggest advantage as they can adjust the lie and height according to their vulnerable terrain. It was emphasized.

An official said, “The main purpose and value of Real Field is to improve the user’s golf skills. Users learn about trouble shots that may occur during a golf round and how to hit shots from various slopes, and practice swings according to each situation to achieve realistic golf skills.” “It helps improve golf skills,” he said. “With the launch of the finished product at the end of last year, it is being installed mainly in indoor driving ranges in Gangnam-gu and Yeouido, Seoul, where golf demand is the highest. These driving ranges are raising the status of the business and securing competitiveness through product differentiation. “We are seeing the effects,” he added.

Currently, Baron is preparing to enter the overseas (US) market, which occupies the majority of the entire golf market. The plan is to accelerate market research and full-scale overseas expansion by participating in the world’s largest golf exhibition ‘PGA Merchandise Show’ to be held in the United States in the first half of 2024. Afterwards, large-scale sales are expected through entry into the Canadian market, establishment of overseas branches in the North American market, and export sales of Real Field.

In addition, we are planning to develop our own application, ‘BaroOn APP’, which provides services such as linking function with product real field, golfer’s swing video recording and editing function, golf course and practice range booking function, and big data construction function. By providing a non-face-to-face customized lesson service, we aim to improve the quality of lessons and quickly improve golfers’ skills by diversifying and deepening the golf lesson curriculum.

Real Field, which is currently used for indoor driving range practice, plans to provide screen golf services by adding durability and screen game functions in the future. Regarding this, an official said, “Currently, domestic and international screen golf competitions have limitations in that they are focused only on the game without realistic records. “Realfield’s screen function will contribute to increasing the level of difficulty for distinguishing tournament records,” he said. “With the launch of our own driving range (in progress), we will provide golf users with Realfield’s high technology by linking it with the most in-demand golf simulator programs.” “We provide an opportunity to experience it first-hand,” he said of the business plan.
