The 3rd Hydrogen Market Insight (H2MI), a global hydrogen conference, will be held for two days from April 4th (Thursday) to 13th (Friday) at Room 14 of Daegu EXCO (CEO Lee Sang-gil) West Building.
Hydrogen Market Insight is a leading domestic professional conference that presents policies and market trends in the hydrogen field and seeks future strategies together. This conference is hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do and supervised by EXCO, Korea Energy Society, Hydrogen Industry Convergence Human Resources Training Group, Korea Energy Engineering University, and Hydrogen Convergence Alliance. The Korea Energy Engineering University’s Fuel Cell Power Generation Technology Convergence Project Group also participated as a co-organizer.
This conference, held under the theme of ‘Starting the hydrogen-industrialization engine’, provides professional research results and information, including global green hydrogen policy and market trends, △green hydrogen commercialization strategy, △current status of P2G demonstration in Korea, △hydrogen city construction and future strategies. are revealed
On the first day of the conference, ‘Global Green Hydrogen Policy and Market Trend’ session will be held. The curtain opens with the opening remarks of Park Jin-ho, chairman of the H1MI Organizing Committee (vice president of Korea University of Energy and Technology), and congratulatory remarks from key officials such as Daegu Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the Korea Institute of Energy.
In the first session, global experts from a total of five countries, including Canada, the United States, Germany, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia, will participate. Starting with the keynote speech by Ali Izadi, Bloomberg NEF’s Asia-Pacific Research Director, Paul Saunders, President of the ‘Energy Innovation Reform Project (EIRP),’ will introduce ‘US hydrogen policy and programs’ as a speaker.
Following this, presentations will be made by global experts such as ‘Trends and Prospects for Establishing a Hydrogen Economy and Value Chain in Germany’, ‘Can Korea Realize a Hydrogen Economy through Imports?’, and ‘Saudi Arabia Hydrogen City Construction Status and Future Prospects’. The panel discussion will include keynote speakers, moderators, presenters, Woosuk University professor Lee Hong-ki, and Kim Seong-woo, director of Kim & Chang.
The green hydrogen commercialization strategy session was chaired by Kim Chang-hee, a professor at Korea University of Energy and Technology. In this session, Lee Hee-seop, SK E&S Business Strategy Team Leader, Kwon Kyung-ahn, Techcross Research Center Director, and POSCO Holdings and Siemens Energy officials will participate as speakers to introduce each company’s hydrogen-related commercialization strategy.
In the domestic P2G demonstration session, representative power generation-related construction companies in Korea will participate. In this session, Jang Seong-ho, head of the Hydrogen Energy Research Department at Korea Electric Power Research Institute, ‘Establishment of MW Feedwater Electrolysis System Test Bed’, Kim Joo-heon, Korea East-West Power Team Leader, ‘Green Hydrogen P2G Demonstration Plan for CHPS Introduction’, and Kang Byung-chan, Jeju Energy Corporation Center Director, ‘Jeju 3MW Green Presentations such as ‘Introduction to Hydrogen Project’, ‘Current Status of K-water’s Green Hydrogen Project’ by Hyun-beom Chung, Manager of Korea Water Resources Corporation, and ‘Status of KGS Code Development of Water Electrolysis Facilities’ by Jeong-woon Lee, Manager of Korea Gas Safety Corporation, will be presented.
In the hydrogen city construction and future strategy session, hydrogen-related infrastructure and business achievements of major domestic cities will be introduced. Park Rae-sang, plant chief of the Korea Land, Infrastructure, Transport, Science and Technology Promotion Agency, ‘Major Achievements of Domestic Hydrogen Demonstration City’, Song Min-young, Ulsan City Corporation’s team leader, ‘Promotional Achievements of Ulsan, Hydrogen Demonstration City’, Baek Min-soo, Director of Ansan City Development Project, ‘Infrastructure Construction of Ansan, Hydrogen Demonstration City’ Present Status’, and ‘Main Achievements of Hydrogen Demonstration City Jeonju/Wanju’ by Kim Yeong-kwon, head of Jeonbuk Technopark Renewable Energy Project, will be announced.
This H2MI will be held concurrently with events such as the 20th International Green Energy Expo, 2023 Solar Market Insight (PVMI), 2023 Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Forum, and AgriVoltaics 2023, and AVING News, a global news network, will participate as a media partner.
