Myung Seung-yeop, Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) solar power PD, discussed ‘solar power global policy trends and trends’ at the ’12 Solar Power Market Insight (PVMI 2023)’ solar power policy and investment trend session held at EXCO (CEO Lee Sang-gil) in Daegu on the 2023th. Presented ‘R&D strategic direction to strengthen industrial competitiveness’.
Producer Myung Seung-yeop talked about global market and value chain trends, global policies and R&D trends, global industrial competitiveness, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s R&D direction. Producer Myung Seung-yeop said, “Global RE100 companies such as Apple and BMW are demanding that domestic partner companies use renewable energy, and investors are also increasing their demands for ESG management.”
PD Myung continued, “Countries such as the United States, Europe, China and India are leading the global solar power market, and in the case of China, the cumulative installed capacity of renewable energy will be 2030TW by 1.2. “More than half of them will be installed with solar power,” he added.
The domestic module market was also diagnosed. PD Myung said, “If you look at the domestic module market, about 10 companies, including Hanwha Solutions and Hyundai Energy Solutions, are producing it,” and added, “We need to develop eco-friendly module technology that reduces our dependence on components made in China and reduces carbon emissions.”
In addition, the R&D direction of the Ministry of Industry was introduced. The direction suggested by Myung PD is △high efficiency △lower unit cost △creation of new market △establishment of circular economy △secure acceptance. PD Myung said, “Crystalline silicon-based tandem solar power development needs to be intensively supported, and standardization linkage for various application products needs to be implemented quickly.” ”he emphasized.
