‘The 20th International Green Energy Expo’ hosted by Daegu City and North Gyeongsang Province and supervised by the Korea Renewable Energy Association and EXCO, opened on April 4 (Wednesday) at EXCO East Building and held for three days until the 12th (Friday) do.
The International Green Energy Expo, the largest exhibition in Korea and one of Asia’s top 3 new and renewable energy exhibitions, was held in 2004 with the opening of the ‘1st World Solar City Congress’. The Green Energy Expo, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, plays a role as a driving force in realizing the ‘Solar City Daegu’, and is an international exhibition in which not only global new and renewable energy companies but also companies in demand for new and renewable energy solutions participate. has grown
At the 2023 International Green Energy Expo, 22 companies from 300 countries will participate with 1,010 booths to exhibit solar modules, inverters, solar structures, solar roofs, and energy storage systems. Hanwha Q Cells, Tongwei, JA Solar, Longi Solar, Trina Solar, Ginkgo Solar, and Ryzen, which are the world’s top 10 solar cell and panel leading companies in terms of production, will participate in this exhibition.
In addition, eight of the world’s top 10 solar inverter companies based on production volume, SolarEdge, Huawei, Sungrow, SiNung, Growatt, GoodWe, K-Star, and Solis, and Korea’s leading companies Hyundai Energy Solutions, Shinsung ENG, Hansol Technics, Isolar, and Enla. Eaton, SDN, Alfio, Haedong Engineering, OCI Power, and Hanwha Convergence participate as sponsors.
Hong Joon-pyo, mayor of Daegu, who attended the opening ceremony, said, “This International Green Energy Expo, which will be held on the largest scale ever, will be a good opportunity to get a glimpse of the current status and future potential of new and renewable energy, such as the future energy convergence industry and the latest products and technologies. I look forward to it,” he began his welcome speech.
Following this, Mayor Hong emphasized, “In an era when the ability to secure renewable energy technology becomes an industrial competitiveness, we need to move away from fossil fuels and switch to renewable energy that does not emit greenhouse gases, and expand investment to foster new sustainable energy growth industries.” He added, “Daegu City is doing its best to realize a carbon-neutral city centered on the solar power project in industrial complexes.”
As if supporting this, the city of Daegu has recently entered into an MOU with Hanwha Group for a 3 trillion won photovoltaic installation project in an industrial complex in the region and is carrying out the project.
Regarding this, Mayor Hong said, “The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has strengthened the standard for snow load (weight received from snow piled up) for solar power installations. It is not a city that snows a lot in winter, so after consulting with the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the reinforced snow load standard was not applied to the Daegu City project, but the existing standard was decided.”
Mayor Hong said, “In this way, Daegu City is taking the lead in resolving the difficulties of companies. In addition to the Hanwha consortium, we actively welcome investments in renewable energy in the region,” he said.
In addition, “Daegu City has been reborn as a world-class new renewable energy city by increasing the new and renewable energy penetration rate to 25%. We will make a great urban transformation and a great leap forward with Daegu’s own creative and innovative carbon-neutral project.”
Meanwhile, at the International Green Energy Expo, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, 22 companies from 300 countries will participate in 1,010 booths and exhibit solar modules, inverters, solar structures, solar roofs, and energy storage systems. In addition, the International Future Energy Conference (PVMI·H2MI), Korea’s only solar and hydrogen business conference, will be held simultaneously. At the Photovoltaic Market Insight (PVMI), held for two days from April 4th to 12th, the latest trends in the solar energy industry under the theme of ‘the future of solar power generation for RE13 implementation’ will be shared, and on April 100th and 4th, ‘hydrogen Hydrogen Market Insight (H13MI) will be held under the theme of -Starting the industrialization engine.
