Samsung Display will participate in ‘CES 2023’, the world’s largest IT and home appliance exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA for a total of 4 days from January 5th (Thursday) to 8th (Sunday, local time) to discuss the future of organic light emitting diode (OLED). Introducing innovative products that will demonstrate

At this CES, Samsung Display will unveil for the first time in the world the ‘Flex Hybrid’, which combines two innovative technologies, foldable and slideable, into one under the theme of ‘Opening a sustainable future through disruptive innovation.’

Flex Hybrid is characterized by a combination of foldable technology on the left side of the screen and slideable technology on the right side. By unfolding the left side, you can switch to a 10.5-inch screen with a 4:3 ratio, and by unfolding the right screen, you can switch to a 12.4-inch large screen display with a 16:10 ratio.

In addition, the 17-inch large-screen slideable display that was introduced at ‘2022 Intel Innovation’ in September last year will also be officially introduced at this CES. It was created with two concepts, ‘Flex Slidable Solo’ and ‘Flex Slidable Duet’, which allow the screen to be expanded in one direction or both directions. Normally, you can carry and use the 13-14 inch tablet size, but when enjoying content such as movies or games, you can enlarge the screen to 17.3 inch size.

An upgraded QD (Quantum Dot)-OLED will also be exhibited at CES. Samsung Display added QD-OLED for ultra-large 77-inch TVs and QD-OLED for 49-inch ultra-wide monitors to the 55, 65, and 34-inch products introduced last year. In addition, this year’s product applied more advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology and the latest organic materials, improving the maximum brightness of each RGB brightness to more than 2,000 nits.

Regarding this, a Samsung Display official said, “By applying high-efficiency organic materials and advanced AI technology, ‘QD-OLED 2023’ has reduced power consumption by 25% compared to the previous year’s product.” He added, “Consumers can reduce power consumption while enjoying dark screens.” He added, “You will be able to enjoy life-like accurate colors and more vibrant and rich picture quality even on a very bright screen.”

Samsung Display is also unveiling the ‘New Digital Cockpit’ for the first time, targeting the autonomous vehicle market and automobile design trends, which are expected to grow rapidly in the future. It is a long product that combines a 34-inch and 15.6-inch display.

It is a product that stands out for its large screen and slim bezel, and can be used as a large screen display for entertainment in autonomous driving mode. In addition, it is equipped with bendable technology that bends the left and right sides of the screen at 700R, providing an optimal viewing distance suitable for drivers.

An exhibition space was also set up to introduce eco-friendly technologies for a sustainable future. The ‘OLED Grow Green’ zone will showcase eco-friendly, low-power technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while also introducing the process of recycling glass, which is considered an irreplaceable resource in the OLED production process.

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
