Liberaware Co., Ltd. (CEO Min Hong-gyu) announced that it will participate in the ‘Drone Show Korea 2’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 23rd (Thursday) to 25th (Saturday).

Liberaware, headquartered in Japan, was founded in 2016 with the mission of realizing a safe society for everyone with the vision of ‘making invisible risks visible’. We are realizing digital transformation in major industries with our independently developed small industrial drones. Our strength is that we develop and produce more than 90% of our parts in-house, and we are developing not only hardware but also software.

We provide a one-stop service by providing an inspection service using the small drone IBIS (hereinafter referred to as IBIS) developed and produced in-house and an in-house pilot, and by converting the captured video into 3D through a proprietary system. The company explains that it provides two major services, inspection and rental, and is increasing adoption by many customers by responding to customer needs.

At this exhibition, the compact drone ‘IBIS’ for indoor inspection will be mainly introduced. IBIS, which can inspect on behalf of humans in narrow, dark, dirty, and dangerous places, is equipped with a vibration-proof motor jointly developed with Nippon Computer and can be operated even in harsh industrial environments, and is equipped with Sony’s camera module to provide Full HD image quality even in dark spaces. The ability to take clear pictures was cited as a feature.

In addition, Liberaware also cited the fact that the video taken through its independently developed software can be converted into point cloud, 3D, and orthoimagery, and can be freely managed on the company’s cloud, as an advantage. Broadly speaking, it was emphasized that IBIS contributes to improving customer productivity by ensuring the safety of people and increasing the inspection efficiency of industrial facilities by visualizing invisible risks in dangerous industrial sites.

A Liberaware official said, “We developed a drone that can inspect the inside of facilities with the desire to safely protect the lives of people exposed to the damage caused by Japan’s frequent earthquakes and natural disasters and the risks of aging infrastructure facilities.” “We are dealing with leading large companies in Japan and have achieved more than 300 results,” he explained.

In addition, “We plan to release the indoor inspection drone IBIS 2.0 in the second half of this year with significant upgrades in features such as improved controllability, specifications, and flight time. “The Korean business is also scheduled to be launched in earnest in the first half of this year, and a launch in Korea is also planned to coincide with the launch in Japan,” he said of his future business plans.

Meanwhile, the exhibit items of the 2023 Drone Show Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of National Defense, and Busan Metropolitan City, and hosted by BEXCO and the Korea Unmanned Aerial System Association are as follows. △Manufacturing (drone, military, UAM/AAM, surveying, mapping, firefighting, station, unmanned robot, leisure, broadcasting) △Utilizing industry (photography, control, spatial information, logistics, disaster management, security, reconnaissance, construction, deep sea exploration) Etc.) △Parts and technology (communication, ground control, autonomous flight, system and S/W technology, fuel cell sensor, motor, battery, etc.) △Service (education, finance, rental, insurance, investment consulting, etc.) △ Institutions (related institutions, associations/organizations, universities)
