At this exhibition, two new types of drones for indoor facility inspection and two types of VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) drones will be released.
Among these, the Hexa Hummingbird is a special drone for inspecting indoor facilities, capable of stable hovering and positioning even indoors where GPS reception is not possible, and is equipped with omnidirectional Lidar for obstacle avoidance. In addition, LEDs are mounted on the front and sides, allowing flight and filming even in dark environments, and the omnidirectional carbon guard safely protects the aircraft even in the event of a collision with an obstacle.
In addition, the Hexa Tri-VTOL 120 and Hexa Quad-VTOL 220 vertical takeoff and landing drones can be used for long-distance reconnaissance, filming, and mapping with long flight times of 60 and 120 minutes, respectively. It can be equipped with a variety of mission equipment and is provided according to the customer’s requirements.
A Hexafactory official said, “Most of the drones released in Korea were drones that inspect facilities outdoors. “Drones are needed to inspect facilities indoors in places where people have difficulty accessing them, and the Hexa Hummingbird is a drone that suits the needs of these users,” he said. “In 2022, the Hexa Hummingbird prototype was used to inspect sewage pipes in Busan. Demonstration has also been successfully carried out. “In addition, it is equipped with a lidar sensor and a vision sensor for altitude maintenance to ensure stable flight even indoors, so even beginners can operate it easily.”

Hexa Hummingbird UAV has begun supplying to many companies for purposes such as solar panel inspection and indoor facility inspection, and plans are to supply the product overseas this year. In addition, the official added, “We plan to provide a 3D SLAM solution add-on to the Hexa Hummingbird drone, and by acquiring 3D SLAM data along with video and photo shooting, more accurate inspection and monitoring can be performed.” He added, “We will continue to provide “We will strive to become Korea’s leading drone company through continuous research and development,” he said.
