Dusitec Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Jin-ho) announced that it will participate in the ‘Drone Show Korea 2’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 23rd (Thursday) to 25th (Saturday).

Dusitech is a company with core satellite navigation (GNSS) technology, supplying GNSS receiver products for artificial satellites and small drone products such as the ‘multi-purpose small KnDrone platform’ for disaster safety and spatial information surveillance and reconnaissance. Dusitech announced that the GNSS complex receiver for satellites has been certified as having performance equivalent to or higher than that of overseas products, laying the foundation for entry into the space market.

In addition, drones have been developed with proprietary technology from the airframe to the flight control system, and in 2021, the ‘KnX & KnX2’ drones were designated as ‘Excellent Products of the Public Procurement Service’ and are being supplied to public institutions and military units. In 2021, it is being recognized for its technological prowess in the fields of aviation, space, and defense convergence navigation, including being designated as an excellent research center by the Ministry of Science and ICT and selected as one of the ‘National Representative 1000 Innovative Companies’.

This exhibition will introduce products for the development of the small and lightweight KnX3 AI drone equipped with ultra-small and high-performance EO/IR, as well as the KnX, KnX2 and KnX2-D drones.

Dusitech’s Kn series drones use hardware such as airframe, smart controller, and battery, as well as flight control (FC) and ground control software, developed in-house, and have a localization rate of over 80%, securing technological and price competitiveness. Among these, KnX and KnX2 drones received KC certification, KCMVP certification, and LTE network CC certification. In addition, the KnX2/KnX2-D foldable drone, which was recently released as a new product, is equipped with a forward collision prevention sensor as standard to enhance stability, and precise data acquisition and takeoff and landing functions are strengthened based on RTK correction information.

The ‘KnX/KnX2’ drone, ‘Smart Flight Controller’, ‘RTK Standard Station’, and ‘Encryption Key Injector’ have been selected as ‘Excellent Products’ by the Public Procurement Service, and the KnX2-D for defense is under additional selection review. Among them, the ‘Smart Flight Controller’, which was especially emphasized, can be conveniently operated in 7 flight modes through self-developed software (Kn-Drive) and can be customized in various ways according to the user’s preference. Two-way wireless communication-based ‘RTK’ is supported, and the ability to fly safely with precise landing within 50cm of the home position set by the user was cited as a strength.

A Dusitech official said, “KnDrone was developed as a drone platform with an encryption system under 2kg by combining cutting-edge technologies with the goal of becoming a small, lightweight, intelligent drone. “The feature is that it improves the image accuracy of the drone camera to enable support for artificial intelligence object recognition services using proprietary technology,” he explained.

For image processing and transmission of these functions, we developed our own navigation sensor fusion algorithm-based flight control, camera gimbal, mission computer, LAN bridge (Kn-FMC2), and smart controller Dual/IP network separation server to collect image information obtained from the camera and We have implemented a technology that allows simultaneous transmission of flight information data to internal and external networks. In particular, the smart remote controller (KnC-SMT01) optionally supports Windows or Android operating systems, and the Ground Control System (GCS) provides manual/automatic mode switching and automatic routing of drones in various geographic information system (GIS) environments. It provides various control functions such as flight, mission correction during flight, acquisition of precise coordinate image information, and RTK precision landing.

Drone communication developed a multi-layer communication protocol that can simultaneously operate steering, control, traffic control, video, and RTK correction information and applied it to the open ground control system (GCS). The communication protocol is provided as an API function, allowing various types of communication protocols. The official explains that compatibility has been expanded by designing it so that other companies’ drones can be easily linked with Dusitech’s GCS.

KnX, KnX2, and KnX2-D drones are equipped with the security system of domestic public institutions and will be supplied to domestic B2G, and KnX3, introduced at this exhibition, is planned to enter domestic and overseas markets.

An official said, “Our company has developed an ‘AI-based real-time object recognition Mixed Reality (MR) drone’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘Artificial Intelligence MR)’ that allows artificial intelligence service technology, which has been used only in expensive mid- to large-sized unmanned aerial vehicles, to be operated on small drones weighing less than 2kg. Drone’) was developed for the first time in Korea. The artificial intelligence MR drone synchronizes the image data within the area viewed by the drone’s camera during high-speed flight with the drone’s sensor information, and recognizes objects such as vehicles, tanks, people, etc. that have been learned in advance in real time with an artificial intelligence algorithm and recognizes the recognized objects. “It has a function that provides accurate location coordinates.”

He continued, “We would like to introduce the development of a new ultra-small intelligent Kn
