Prenew (CEO Lee Jong-kyung) announced that it will participate in the ‘2 Drone Show Korea 23’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 25 (Thu) to 2023 (Sat).
Prinyu is a company specializing in drones that provides innovative drone systems and services through the convergence of drone and aviation hardware manufacturing technology, software development technology, and core IT technology. Through convergence with IT technology, we provide platform-based services that can maximize the utilization of drones. Prinyu’s unmanned aerial vehicles and systems are designed and manufactured in-house for the purpose of surveying, reconnaissance/surveillance, search, inspection, etc. A variety of customizations are possible.
At this exhibition, it introduces the Pandion S, a multi-purpose compact multicopter that is convenient to carry and use. With a light weight of 1.7kg, it provides easy portability, and it can perform missions easily and quickly through self-designed applications and ultra-small EO/IR cameras exclusively for Pandion S. It can be used for various purposes such as urban area and reconnaissance/surveillance, AI-based facility inspection, military surveillance and training. At the Prenew booth, the drone control vehicle was configured so that the actual control situation could be directly checked.

The Pandion S is an aircraft developed after being selected for the 2021 Defense Acquisition Program Administration rapid pilot acquisition project, and the company explains that it is currently the only mass-produced domestic modular foldable drone in Korea.
An official from Prinyu said, “We have succeeded in exporting through steady improvement and commercialization, and we are focusing on steady development as it can be used for various purposes as a small modular drone and has high growth potential in the related market.” We would like to introduce practical applications of Pandion S, rather than simply focusing on the performance and specifications of drones, through the multi-integrated control vehicle for the video information captured.”
Prinyu, which is manufacturing drones and drone core parts in-house, said that based on the technology, it has completed the delivery of more than 200 drones to various places such as the domestic military, government, and local governments, proving its performance and safety. The electric unmanned helicopter Lupel E is currently being deployed on seven Coast Guard vessels and is being used for monitoring Chinese fishing boats. In addition, it has exported small UAVs, communication modules capable of transmitting video data and flight information, and core parts of drones to the UK, US, Germany, UAE, and the Philippines, and has plans to supply additional mass-production of UAVs.

An official said, “Since its foundation in 2017, we have been participating in Drone Show Korea every year, and we are growing steadily with Drone Show Korea. At the 2023 Drone Show Korea, we plan to showcase self-produced and developed drones, core parts, and technologies to drone industry officials and visitors, and also introduce solutions that make up drones and control systems.” We are concentrating on product development by identifying market trends and acquiring consumer needs,” he explained the background of participating in the exhibition.
He also talked about future plans. An official said, “We are preparing the Pandion S2, an improved version of the Pandion S, and the drone station. Freenew’s drone station allows drones that have completed their missions to perform their next mission right away through battery replacement without waiting for charging at the station. In addition, through the drone station, it is possible to operate drones from a distance without a separate field operator through a communication network rather than directly managed by the operator in the field. We plan to actively propose it to more local governments.”
