SK Signet will participate in CES 2023, the world’s largest IT and home appliance fair, to be held in Las Vegas, USA on January 5 (local time).

SK Signet jointly operates the SK exhibition hall under the theme of ‘Action (Together, further, moving toward a carbon-free future)’ with seven affiliates within the SK Group, including SK, SK Innovation, and SK Telecom. SK Signet, the No. 1 company in the U.S. ultra-fast charger market share, is unveiling its new standard ultra-fast charger ‘V2’ for the first time here.

SK Signet’s V2 improves the efficiency of the power module, a key component of electric vehicle chargers, to achieve more stable and faster charging. In addition, the company explains that by applying modular design to key components, the product production period can be shortened and costs can be reduced, maximizing the efficiency of charging station operators.

It is also equipped with a battery diagnostic service function developed jointly with SK On. This allows you to check the vehicle’s battery status while charging.

The optional top banner at the top of the product allows customers to check the charger usage status from afar. The 32-inch large display, which can be operated from a low position in consideration of the transportation vulnerable, can expose video content, providing additional business opportunities such as advertising to charging station operators.

V2 is produced at SK Signet’s Texas plant. This is the first ultra-fast charger produced in the United States, and is also a product that benefits from subsidies from the U.S. ‘Special Act for Expansion of National Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (NEVI)’. Starting next year, we plan to further solidify our existing No. 1 position in the U.S. market by being able to proactively respond to the Biden administration’s subsidy policy.

Furthermore, more than 10,000 units of the V2 are scheduled to be produced annually through SK Signet’s Texas plant, and pilot operations will begin in the first quarter of next year.

Shin Jeong-ho, CEO of SK Signet, said, “We will solidify our position as number one in the North American ultra-fast charging market and promote the spread of global electric vehicles.”

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 1 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 17, and has been selected as the ‘BEST OF CES’, which selects the best innovative products and technologies, and the ‘BEST OF’, which selects domestic innovative companies. ‘MADE IN KOREA’ was held. In addition, CES on-site issues were vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
