Hyrium Industries Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Seo-young) participated in the ‘2 Drone Show Korea 23’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 25 (Thu) to 2023 (Sat).
Hyrium Industries is engaged in businesses such as mobile hydrogen and liquefied hydrogen charging, and among them, liquefied hydrogen develops related technologies and supplies them to the market. In 2014, it developed liquefied hydrogen for the first time in Korea, succeeded in commercializing a liquefied hydrogen tank for hydrogen mobility in 2017, and developed an ultra-light liquefied hydrogen tank for hydrogen drones and launched a drone equipped with a liquefied hydrogen-based fuel cell. The ultra-light titanium liquefied hydrogen tank is for drones, so it is small and light, and the weight is also dramatically reduced, the company said.

HYRIUM INDUSTRY, which has participated in Drone Show Korea every year, demonstrated new technologies and carried out activities related to business and other industries through this exhibition. In particular, in the case of liquefied hydrogen drones, officials explained that they participated to introduce the long-term operation that can fly for more than 10 hours and the future that drones will face.
An official said, “The Dodeca drone with 12 rotors newly developed by Hyrium Industries is far ahead of other drones in flight stability and output. The biggest advantage of our Dodeca drone is that it is compatible with all three batteries, hydrogen and liquefied hydrogen, and can fly for more than 5 hours.”
“Recently, the market for logistics delivery drones is growing. Hyrium Industries launched the Dodeca drone to develop a more stable and high-output drone, and since it has 12 propellers, it will be used for logistics delivery, other relief goods delivery, and service businesses desired by customers,” he added.
Currently, Hyrium Industries manufactures and supplies liquefied hydrogen drones for various purposes with customers such as city gas pipe inspections, communication repeaters, and the Republic of Korea Army in Korea. Overseas, we provide various user experiences (inspection of offshore wind power generators and solar power generators, inspection of railroads and bridges, etc.) and expert services through Hydrogen As A Service in the case of customers in France and Switzerland and in the United States.
In the future, we are planning to develop a logistics delivery drone with a maximum take-off weight of 100 kg or more, and predict a 3,300 km crossing of the South Atlantic Ocean by a small unmanned aerial vehicle using liquefied hydrogen and fuel cells as energy sources. In addition, we are preparing a coastal surveillance service using a drone equipped with a high-performance night surveillance camera.
