제주특별자치도는 2월 23일(목)부터 25일(토)까지 부산 벡스코에서 열린 ‘2023 드론쇼 코리아(Drone Show Korea 2023)’에 참가했다.
제주특별자치도는 전국 최대 규모의 드론 특별 자유화 구역 운영과 저밀도관광 및 공공 중심의 J-UAM 상용화를 통한 드론 메카도시 구현을 목표로 하고 있다. 현재는 제주특별자치도에 특화된 드론 산업을 진행 중이며, 전국에서 가장 큰 특구 산업을 운영하고 있다.
이번 전시회에서는 제주 드론 특별 자유화 구역 조성 사업과 제주도심항공 사업을 소개했다. 제주 드론 특별 자유화 구역 조성 사업은 드론 통합관제 플랫폼과 도내 운용 중인 다양한 이기종 드론 및 유관기관과 연계, 실시간 모니터링 및 정보 공유 등을 통해 효율적인 드론 관리체계를 구축하고, 이를 기반으로 소방드론 긴급구조, 가스배관망 모니터링 등 9가지 드론 상용화 서비스를 도입하여 다양한 도시 문제를 해결하고 있다.
제주도심항공 사업인 J-UAM은 제주공항을 기점으로 동, 서, 남, 북을 연결하는 여객운송서비스를 통해 제주의 교통문제를 해결하고 주요 관광지 및 유인 부속섬을 기점으로 관광, 응급, 배송 서비스를 추진하는 등 전국 최초의 UAM 상용화를 목표로 하고 있다.
제주특별자치도의 김현준 주무관은 “제주도는 전국에서 가장 큰 특구를 운영 중에 있고 관련한 드론 서비스를 진행 중이다. 드론 산업이 발전하며 기술력이 늘어나고 있다. 상상만 했던 것들이 조금씩 현실이 되며, 탄탄하고 확실한 드론 산업이 되어가고 있음이 느껴진다. 제주도는 지금처럼 안전한 드론 운영을 위한 플랫폼을 만들어 나가도록 하겠다.”는 포부를 밝혔다.
