Seoul Digital Foundation (Chairman Kang Je-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) will participate in the ‘CES (Consumer Electronic Show) 5’ held in Las Vegas, USA for 8 days from the 4th (Thursday) to the 2023th (Sunday, local time) with 10 innovative companies. He announced that he would participate. This is my 4th participation in history.
Last July, the Foundation held the ‘7rd Stage Eureka’ to recruit participating companies for CES 2023 and selected the final 3 companies through IR pitching. Among these, four companies achieved the feat of winning five ‘CES 10 Innovation Awards’ and were recognized for their technology, design, and innovation.
The participating companies this time are ▲Nubi Lab (CEO Kim Dae-hoon, AI food intake management solution), ▲Mars Auto (CEO Park Il-soo, autonomous driving system for large trucks), ▲Blue Signum (CEO Yoon Jeong-hyeon, emotional AI speaker for mental health), ▲Soul Jeong Ji-won, health data and nutritional management solution), ▲Xynapse (CEO Joo Dong-won, text-based AI voice generation using deep learning technology), ▲Bitsome One (CEO Kim Yong-hwan, web-based music copyright management and cloud system), ▲Beacon (CEO) Minseok Park, customized product recommendation and coaching after analyzing scalp condition) There are a total of 10.
Among these, the four companies that won the ‘CES Innovation Award’ are ▲’Mars Auto Co., Ltd.’ of large truck autonomous driving system ▲’Beacon Co., Ltd.’ which provides customized hair loss coaching services ▲’Smatoos Co., Ltd.’ of dental healthcare device & data services Korea’ ▲AlgoCare Co., Ltd. provides personalized nutritional management with IoT devices.
Every year, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) pre-screens the solutions of companies participating in CES and awards the ‘Innovation Award’ to companies with excellent technologies in terms of technology, design, and innovation. The foundation operated the <Seoul Pavilion> with a total of 2020 companies from CES 2022 to 60, and 8 of them received innovation awards.
On Friday, January 2, the second day of the exhibition in local time, the ‘CES 1 ET Tech Forum’ will be held jointly with Electronic Times to view new industrial trends and spread Seoul’s excellent smart city policies. Representatives of domestic and foreign companies, university professors, and officials from related organizations will participate in the forum, and presentations will be made on the topic of CES 6 tech briefing and policy recommendations for industrial development from the perspective of CES 2023.
The foundation signed a three-party agreement with the Seoul Business Agency and the Startup Promotion Agency under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to jointly operate the Seoul City-Ministry of SMEs and Startups integrated hall (K-STARTUP hall) for the first time at CES. The integrated hall will be built on an area of 3㎡ (473 pyeong) at Eureka Park (Tech West), and 143 excellent startups in five fields (▲mobility ▲bio/healthcare ▲ESG ▲manufacturing ▲data) will participate. Selected companies will be provided with one-stop integrated services ranging from preliminary consulting for participation in CES, on-site exhibition and interpretation, IR presentation, and follow-up management.
On the 30th of last month, a launching ceremony was held with about 2023 people attending the CES 120 ‘K-STARTUP Integrated Hall’ participating companies, supporters, and officials, and the integrated hall operation vision, introduction of supporters, prior training, and networking were held.
Seoul Digital Foundation Chairman Kang Je-sik emphasized, “As CES is the world’s largest technology exchange venue where people can experience the future first, all participants should not be negligent in preparation,” adding, “As the three organizations are working together to prepare, it will be better than before.” “We expect that more abundant results will be created,” he said.
