    The Seoul Metropolitan Government will operate the ‘Seoul Technology Museum’ at ‘CES (Consumer Electronic show) 2023’ held in Las Vegas, USA for 1 days from January 5th (Thursday) to January 8th (Sunday, local time), 4. The ‘K-STARTUP Integration Hall’, in which about 2023 startups participate, will also be operated simultaneously for the first time.

    CES is the world’s largest tech fair held every January in Las Vegas, USA. It is a cutting-edge technology competition where global conglomerates such as Samsung and Google declare their future vision for their companies, and innovative technologies developed by startups from each country are presented to the global market. It’s a chapter.

    Seoul is evaluated as a city with excellent startup infrastructure, ranking 2022th in the global startup ecosystem in the ‘Global Ecosystem Report 10’ published by Startup Genome, a global startup ecosystem evaluation agency.

    In particular, at this CES, the ‘Seoul Technology Center’, which implements innovative technologies related to ‘mobility’ and ‘ESG’, will be created in the main exhibition hall (LVCC). This is the first time that the country (city) pavilion has been displayed in the main exhibition hall, which is the exhibition space for companies representing the global tech industry such as Samsung and Microsoft.

    Accordingly, the number of participating companies and exhibition space will be expanded. The ‘Seoul Technology Center’ in the main exhibition hall (LVCC) is 165㎡ (approximately 50 pyeong), and six leading domestic large corporations and open innovation startups will participate. The ‘K-STARTUP Integrated Hall’, in which 6 of Korea’s best startups participate, will be built on an area of ​​50㎡ (approximately 473 pyeong) at Eureka Park, a national and startup exhibition hall.

    The Seoul Technology Museum is a platform that introduces the cutting-edge technologies of Seoul’s innovative conglomerates and startups to the global market and presents the vision of Seoul evolving through technology. It collaborates with a theme zone that embodies future vision and experience elements. It is composed and operated as a Tech Zone that displays innovative technologies of startups.

    In the theme zone, a large three-dimensional screen (7M*3M) will be installed to show stereoscopic (4D) and 3D videos that can realistically realize Seoul’s future vision. UAM, drones, self-driving cars, and eco-friendly technologies are dynamically presented using anamorphic technology, impactfully realizing Seoul’s future industries evolving through technology. In addition, in cooperation with Caliverse Co., Ltd., we plan to operate a K-content experience booth based on an immersive metaverse to provide a variety of attractions to visitors.

    Through this CES, the Seoul Metropolitan Government aims to present the future image of Seoul as a tech hub under the vision of ‘Smart Transportation City, Eco-Friendly Blue City, Seoul’ and simultaneously support excellent startups’ entry into the global market.

    ‘Mobility’ and ‘ESG’, the main themes of the CES 2023 Seoul Pavilion, are key areas for achieving Seoul’s policy vision and were presented as strategic goals of ‘Smart Transportation City Seoul, Eco-Friendly Blue City Seoul’ in ‘Seoul Vision 2030’. The city of Seoul is taking active steps, such as establishing a new urban air traffic (UAM) system and preparing carbon neutrality (Net Zero) implementation measures.

    In line with this, the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) plans to showcase innovative technologies in the ‘Mobility and ESG’ field at the Seoul Technology Center through open innovation in cooperation with large companies. We will conduct an open innovation program (4th Seoul Innovation Challenge) with four large domestic companies to jointly discover six startups with innovative technologies in related fields and support them in entering the global market through a joint exhibition at CES as well as support for technological collaboration and commercialization.

    The ‘Seoul Innovation Challenge’ is a project to support technology development (R&D) of startups with innovative technologies in new industries, and the SBA is supporting ▲ Lotte Chemical Co. and S-Oil Co., Ltd., which are focusing on the eco-friendly energy business ▲ Urban air transportation ( We signed a partnership with Korea Aerospace Research Institute and Hancom Inspace, leaders in the UAM (UAM) business, and selected six excellent startups that fit the technological challenges presented by each company.

    Previously, SBA established a cooperation system with the Seoul Digital Foundation and the Startup Promotion Agency under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to create and operate the K-STARTUP integrated hall. The selection of excellent startups will be expanded to 3 companies through the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ integrated pavilion, which was created for the first time at CES through a three-party agreement, and will provide systematic integrated services.

    The exhibition fields of excellent startups selected by the K-STARTUP Integration Hall are 5 major fields: ▲Mobility ▲Bio/Healthcare ▲ESG ▲Manufacturing ▲Data, and are expected to attract attention in Eureka with an integrated and expanded scale compared to the previous year. .

    Selected companies will receive one-stop integrated services ranging from preliminary consulting for CES, on-site exhibition and interpretation, IR presentation, and follow-up management. In particular, consulting training was conducted to receive the Innovation Award, which is given to companies with innovative technology and aesthetic design within CES, and 17 companies achieved the result of receiving the CES 2023 Innovation Award.

    In addition, SBA entered into a separate partnership with the business groups of four universities (Kyunghee University, Kookmin University, Sogang University, and Chung-Ang University) and the Startup Promotion Agency to provide effective exhibition support. In order to provide close local support to the 4 companies exhibiting at the K-STARTUP Integrated Hall, 50 college student supporters were also selected.

    Selected college student supporters will be matched 1:1 with startups in the desired field, and will receive prior training on the company to increase their understanding of the company. Through this, it is expected to provide close support for exhibition preparation, on-site interpretation, and corporate business communication.
