    Seoul Digital Foundation (Chairman Kang Je-sik) announced that companies that participated in the Seoul pavilion of ‘CES 2022’ achieved significant results.

    The Seoul Digital Foundation participated in CES 2022, the world’s largest IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, early this year (January 1-5, 7) with 2022 innovative companies in the largest scale ever, with 25 investment consultations and approximately 945 investment consultations.     Among these, Metel Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Jeong), which participated as a sleep tech startup, collaborated with Korea Veterans Welfare and Medical Service (Chairman Gam Shin), Central Veterans Hospital (Director Yoo Geun-young), and Tongil Medical Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Deok-jung) on ​​the 21st to develop a smart pillow for sleep disorders. A business agreement (MOU) for research and development and commercialization was signed.

    Metel Co., Ltd. is a sleep tech startup that has developed a smart pillow that can alleviate snoring by adjusting pillow height and convenient sleep management through mobile linkage. It participated in the CES 2022 Seoul Pavilion and conducted 60 export consultations, with export consultation amount of $307 million ( It created a performance worth approximately KRW 37 billion.

    The signing ceremony held at the Central Veterans Hospital was attended by Metel CEO Jeong Ki, Director Kim Seung-yo, Corporation Chairman Gamshin, Central Veterans Hospital Administration Director Lee Yong-jae, Bogo Center Director Chae Soo-jeong, and Unification Medical Co. Ltd. CEO Kim Deok-jung. Through this MOU, the three organizations plan to jointly research and develop an artificial intelligence smart pillow that measures, analyzes and improves the user’s sleep and applies it to patients suffering from sleep disorders including sleep apnea and poor quality sleep.

    Metel Co., Ltd. is developing a sleep monitoring system and researching and developing AI smart pillow products, and the Korea Veterans Affairs Hospital plans to maximize comfort during sleep by deriving improvement measures through clinical evaluation of smart pillows, and Tongil Medical Co., Ltd. is promoting commercialization. Promote the development of necessary domestic and overseas markets.
