Emotive (CEO Min Sang-sang), a company specializing in digital therapeutics, was honored with the CES 2023 Innovation Award for its self-diagnosis and cognitive enhancement solution ‘Star Ruckus’ for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). CES is the world’s largest information technology exhibition held every January in Las Vegas, USA.
Emotiv’s ‘Star Ruckus’, which won the innovation award in the digital healthcare category, is a mobile game-type application. When parents answer survey questions using a mobile phone or tablet and the child plays a simple game, the child’s probability of ADHD is reported. The ADHD screening test used in medical institutions has been turned into a game, and the probability of ADHD can be measured in about 30 minutes. Cognitive enhancement games are also included to improve children’s attention, inhibition, processing speed, cognitive flexibility, and working memory.
Min Sang-sang, CEO of Emotiv, said, “As a result of conducting in-depth interviews with guardians of children with ADHD, most of the respondents felt a high psychological burden of having to receive psychiatric treatment to treat ADHD.” “We are developing and verifying digital treatments that can alleviate.”
Emotiv is developing digital treatments for ADHD and autism in collaboration with Seoul National University Hospital, Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital, and Inje University Busan Paik Hospital. CEO Min said, “As a parent raising children, I hope the treatment process is enjoyable for children,” and added, “We want to develop a digital treatment that is both fun and medically effective.”
Emotive plans to participate in CES 2023 and operate a booth to showcase innovation award-winning products.
