WORLD HYDROGEN EXPO 2025 (WHE 2025), set to become the world’s largest hydrogen industry exhibition, will take place at KINTEX for four days from Thursday, December 4 to Sunday, December 7.

The WHE 2025 Organizing Committee, co-chaired by Nam-hoon Kang, Chairman of the Korea Automobile & Mobility Association, and Jae-hong Kim, Chairman of the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, announced that it will integrate H2 MEET, Korea’s flagship hydrogen industry exhibition held annually since 2020, with the international hydrogen conference previously held around Hydrogen Day on November 2, under the new unified name “World Hydrogen Expo” starting this year.

As WHE 2025 launches as an integrated platform encompassing both exhibition and conference formats, the organizing committee plans to bring together global hydrogen companies and key industry leaders in one place to share and discuss the importance of hydrogen economy development and international cooperation, thereby laying the groundwork for Korea to establish itself as a global hydrogen hub.

H2 MEET, which will take place from December 4 to 7 at KINTEX Exhibition Center 2 (Halls 7 and 8), serves as Korea’s representative hydrogen industry exhibition, featuring companies, institutions, and organizations across hydrogen production, storage, transport, and utilization. Since its inaugural edition in 2020, the exhibition has been held annually, and last year it attracted more than 320 companies from 24 countries and over 30,000 visitors, earning recognition as a world-class exhibition. This year, by including the weekend in the exhibition schedule, the event will also offer the general public an exceptional opportunity to experience hydrogen technologies firsthand.

From December 4 to 5, the restructured WHE 2025 Conference will run for two days and will be organized into three thematic sessions. The Leadership Address session will feature senior government officials from major countries, including Korea, Japan, Germany, the United States, Australia, and Malaysia, who will present national strategies for the transition to clean hydrogen and share global policy directions. The Hydrogen Deep Dive session will focus on key issues, including hydrogen supply chains, technology commercialization, international standards, and hydrogen derivatives, with leading global companies and experts delivering in-depth presentations and discussions to derive practical implementation strategies. The Country Day session will consist of technology seminars hosted by national pavilions, highlighting each participating country’s hydrogen industry policies and technological trends.

In addition to the exhibition and conference, a range of side events will take place throughout the event period. The Hydrogen Industry Global Partnership Business Matching Program, co-organized by the organizing committee and KOTRA from Dec. 4 to 7, will support overseas expansion by connecting Korean hydrogen companies with global buyers through business matching.

The 6th Korea–Germany Hydrogen Conference, scheduled for December 3, will facilitate active technical exchanges between experts from both countries across five key areas: hydrogen policy, production, storage, utilization, and safety.

The 8th General Assembly of the Global Hydrogen Industrial Associations Alliance (GHIAA), set for December 5, is also expected to serve as an important milestone in positioning Korea as a central hub for global hydrogen cooperation. GHIAA is an international alliance established to promote the transition to a clean hydrogen economy and global collaboration, and it currently includes hydrogen associations from 26 countries.

Meanwhile, WHE 2025 will take place in December on a limited basis to align with the Hydrogen Council CEO Summit schedule, which runs from December 2 to 4 and brings together global hydrogen industry leaders. During this period, hydrogen company leaders will engage in active exchanges with Korean companies and institutions through the opening ceremony, exhibition, conference, and business meetings. The Hydrogen Council is a global coalition comprising around 150 leading hydrogen-related companies.

An organizing committee official said, “As we prepare this event under the new name ‘World Hydrogen Expo’ to become the world’s largest and highest-level hydrogen industry gathering, we are making every effort to attract top-tier speakers, senior government officials from around the world, and global hydrogen companies.” The official added, “We will do our utmost to ensure the successful hosting of this event so that it provides a comprehensive view of global hydrogen industry trends and contributes to strengthening the foundation for international cooperation across the entire industry.”
