The British Embassy in Seoul hosted the UK Pavilion at the 2024 Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX 2024), held at EXCO from October 23 (Wednesday) to October 26 (Saturday). The pavilion showcased technologies and products from leading UK mobility companies.
The embassy’s Department for Business and Trade has maintained a steady partnership with Daegu City since the inaugural mobility expo, DIFA, in 2017. This year marked the eighth consecutive year of participating with a UK Pavilion, following the event’s rebranding to FIX.
The UK, a global hub for the mobility industry, exports approximately 80% of its domestically produced vehicles. The country is renowned for its strengths in low-carbon propulsion technologies, lightweight structures, and autonomous vehicle systems.
In line with these capabilities, the UK government continues to invest £500 million annually to develop the electric vehicle supply chain, encouraging domestic and international investment in battery, electronics, and fuel cell components.
At FIX 2024, the UK Pavilion featured seven British companies. It aimed to enhance partnerships and networks between Korean and British firms while showcasing the UK’s cutting-edge mobility technologies and services to a global audience.
Participating companies included:
– Everlink: A 3D measurement solutions specialist.
– Autocraft Solutions Group: Experts in engine remanufacturing and assembly.
– Cenex: A decarbonization research and consulting company.
– Flexible Power Systems: Providers of commercial vehicle software and charging services.
– Horiba MIRA: Suppliers of vehicle engineering, research, and testing solutions.
– IDTechEx: A market trend research and data analysis company.
– Vision Engineering: Specializing in digital 3D inspection systems and stereoscopic microscopes.
A representative from the British Embassy stated, “We are delighted to present the UK’s sustainable and innovative mobility solutions at this expanded edition of FIX. We look forward to further strengthening UK-Korea collaboration in the mobility sector.”
