HD Hyundai Robotics participated in the 2024 Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX 2024), held from October 23 to 26 at Daegu EXCO. The company unveiled its newly commercialized U Series of robots, marking the debut of its advanced collaborative robotics lineup.
The U Series stands out by significantly reducing overall weight and operation time while offering an expanded working radius compared to existing industrial robots. Through structural minimization and compact design, HD Hyundai Robotics has reduced the weight by up to 12% and operation time by up to 11%. These robots are optimized for applications such as arc welding, handling, and machine tending, making them highly applicable across industrial production facilities, including automotive manufacturing.
The U Series offers the industry’s largest working radius compared to similar mid-sized models capable of lifting equivalent weights. This innovation broadens the options for customers who previously had to invest in larger, more expensive robots to achieve greater reach.
CEO Wansoo Kim of HD Hyundai Robotics stated, “The U Series launch is just the beginning. We plan to introduce various new products, showcasing our superior technology and solutions, which have received positive responses from attendees.”
By 2026, HD Hyundai Robotics will launch over ten new products, including collaborative robots. Additionally, the company plans to establish a lineup of more than 50 industrial robots and secure the top position in the domestic market, solidifying its leadership in the robotics industry.
FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, exhibited AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo displayed industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Startup Arena” was introduced to facilitate meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
