MDA Co., Ltd. (CEO Jinwook Choi) participated in the Future Innovation Tech Expo 2024 (FIX 2024), held from October 23 to 26 at Daegu EXCO.

MDA, a domestic startup established in 2021, specializes in developing vision AI-based technology solutions. Since its inception, the company has focused on strengthening visual data processing technologies, including image and video processing. It has also completed projects in text data processing and AI applications for golf training.

The company has also secured and carried out three government-supported projects, demonstrating its competitive edge. MDA has achieved consistent results through its “i-Mirror” solution, developed in collaboration with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).

At FIX 2024, MDA showcased its flagship solution, i-Mirror, highlighting its unique features and benefits to attendees. The solution is designed as an exercise coaching system that supports seniors’ healthy lifestyles.

i-Mirror analyzes human posture captured through cameras using an AI model, converting data such as body balance and joint angles into measurable outputs. This data is used to deliver personalized exercise content, aiding in rehabilitation or posture correction to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, particularly for elderly users.

The system combines user convenience and operational efficiency. It features a compact camera with a recognition range of under 2 meters, enabling easy installation in limited spaces. Additionally, its on-device AI system allows usage without internet connectivity, while a large touchscreen display and built-in speakers ensure an intuitive user interface and a broad data display.

An MDA representative stated, “i-Mirror analyzes body balance and joint range of motion (ROM) to recommend mirror stretching and rehabilitation exercises, promoting improved mobility across various body parts. Its additional exercise content supports step-by-step improvements, making it a solution for seniors and younger users.”

The representative added, “Since launching i-Mirror this past August, we have been looking for opportunities to promote the product widely. Participating in FIX 2024, often called ‘Korea’s CES,’ allowed us to showcase our solution’s innovation and reliability internationally. We aimed to meet domestic and global buyers to explore market expansion possibilities.”

FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, exhibited AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo displayed industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Startup Arena” was introduced to facilitate meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
