Bokuk Electronics (CEO Wan-soo Lee) participated in the Future Innovation Tech Expo 2024 (FIX 2024), held from October 23 to 26 at Daegu EXCO.
Founded in 1974, Bokuk Electronics has become a prominent household appliance company. It produces fans, heaters, electric mats, humidifiers, and more. The company is recognized for its practical and reliable products at reasonable prices. In recent years, Bokuk has expanded into the healthcare and wellness sectors, introducing various new technologies and products, particularly accelerating its entry into the sleep tech market.
At FIX 2024, Bokuk Electronics showcased its in-house developed bio-data measurement and analysis system. Leveraging its independent production capability in vital sensors, the company has successfully developed a mattress-based product to assist in managing patients in multi-care environments such as hospitals and nursing homes.
This system measures vital signs, including heart and respiratory rates, in real-time and can detect patient presence. It also provides post-sleep statistics with a minimal margin of error of ±5% compared to polysomnography results.
The system enables the customization of bio-data thresholds for each patient. Any data exceeding these thresholds immediately alerts medical staff, facilitating proactive interventions and emergency response. Hospitals can optimize human resources for patient care, while the product’s integrated design allows for easy installation and operation.
A Bokuk representative commented, “This system is part of a new project we’ve worked on since last year. Compared to the demo product showcased at the 2023 Mediexpo, this upgraded version will be launched by the end of this year. Related application products are planned for sequential release starting in 2025.”
The representative added, “Our products go beyond monitoring sleep health. We aim to integrate various technologies to create solutions that improve societal well-being. To ensure reliability, we plan to acquire certifications from regulatory bodies such as the KFDA and FDA, paving the way for expanding into diverse application fields, including medical devices.”
FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services.
