Hyundai Mobis participated in the “2024 Future Innovation tech eXpo (FIX 2024)” from October 23 to October 26 at Daegu EXCO, unveiling its groundbreaking demonstrator vehicle, MOBION. Previously showcased at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, the MOBION drew significant attention from the industry and the public.
Unlike concept cars, MOBION is a functional demonstrator equipped with Hyundai Mobis’s next-generation electric vehicle driving technology, the e-Corner System. This system integrates independent motors within all four wheels of the vehicle, forming the core of the In-Wheel system, which precisely controls vehicle movements based on the output of each engine.
This advanced technology allows MOBION to perform exceptional maneuvers such as zero-turns (rotating 360 degrees in place) and crab driving (sideways movement without forward or reverse motion). At FIX 2024, Hyundai Mobis demonstrated these unique capabilities, drawing gasps and applause from the audience.
Hyundai Mobis has integrated braking, steering, and suspension into the e-Corner System, showcasing its advanced control technologies. This demonstrator vehicle highlights the company’s ability to push the boundaries of electrified mobility. The MOBION even achieved successful public road testing of the e-Corner System last year, solidifying its potential for real-world application.
MOBION represents the fusion of “Mobility” and “On,” symbolizing Hyundai Mobis’s commitment to redefining mobility and leading the electrification market. A Hyundai Mobis representative stated, “MOBION embodies our vision of pioneering new mobility definitions through electrification. We are delighted to share our unique technologies and values, creating a stronger connection with the public and the industry.”
