Daegu Metropolitan City and Daegu Technopark announced that the city’s star companies made significant achievements at the “2024 Future Innovation tech eXpo (FIX 2024)” through export consultations with international buyers. The expo runs at EXCO until October 26.
In the STAR Global Village Pavilion, 11 innovative STAR companies from Daegu showcased their technologies. They also participated in programs, including investment IR pitches, export consultations with international buyers, and seminars to support their global market expansion.
On the first day, six companies, including UND Co. LTD, held 14 export consultations with nine international buyers, resulting in approximately $5 million in business discussions. Notably, beauty tech company LillyCover signed a $1.5 million export deal and an exclusive agreement with Turkey’s The Mossi, a cosmetics manufacturer.
UND Co. LTD, a robotics firm, partnered with China’s IBEN Robotics for export and joint R&D. At the same time, Korea Alpha System signed an agreement with Thailand’s E.N.SOFT for collaboration on a smart city project in Thailand.
The STAR Global Village Pavilion displayed six companies’ advanced robotics and automation technologies, including UND’s “Wireless Robot Tool Changer” and RGBLab’s “Brain-Computer.”
Additionally, six STAR companies seeking investment presented IR pitches to nine prominent domestic investment firms and successfully concluded a networking event. To enhance engagement, UND provided a specially developed “drip coffee service robot” that served coffee to buyers and visitors, which received a positive response.
Vice Mayor of Daegu in Economic Affairs Jang-su Jeong commented, “Through this event, our star companies with exceptional technology have gained a foothold for entering the global market. We will continue to create opportunities for star companies to grow into global enterprises.”
FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, exhibited AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo displayed industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Startup Arena” was introduced to facilitate meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
