Daegu Metropolitan City hosted ‘Daegu Night,’ the official networking reception for FIX 2024 (Future Innovation tech eXpo), on October 23 at EXCO.

Notable guests attended the event, including Jang-su Jeong, Vice Mayor for economic affairs at Daegu; Tatsunori Motani, Chairperson of Hiroshima City Council; Jen Gilberg, Deputy Secretary of Technology and Entrepreneurship for the state of Pennsylvania; Tony Clemson, Director of Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Seoul; and Tamar Kosher Maron, Head of the Israel Economic and Trade Office at the Embassy of Israel in Korea. International speakers, buyers, and representatives from companies and institutions attended, totaling around 300 attendees.

The event provided an opportunity for business networking between companies and institutions and cultural exchanges. The Daegu City Traditional Music Orchestra performed an ensemble with artists from the sister city of Hiroshima, symbolizing the friendship between cities and adding an artistic dimension to the networking experience.

Vice Mayor Jeong remarked, “FIX 2024 is Korea’s premier expo for viewing all the latest innovations without traveling to Las Vegas, where CES is held. We are committed to growing FIX as a global brand representing Korea and sharing our companies’ growth stories.”

FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, exhibited AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo displayed industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Startup Arena” was introduced to facilitate meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
