The 2024 Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX 2024) kicked off on October 23 at Daegu EXCO, bringing together 463 companies and over 2,071 booths in Korea’s largest event of its kind to showcase cutting-edge technologies across fields such as future mobility, robotics, and ABB (AI, Big Data, Blockchain). The expo will run for four days, ending October 26.
Under the theme “Innovative Technology for a Better Future,” FIX 2024 features the latest technologies from global companies, including Tesla, Hyundai Mobis, ABB Korea, SK, and KT. The event also includes an international conference featuring leading experts like Nvidia and RoMeLa, providing a comprehensive look at global innovation trends.
In the EXCO’s East Wing mobility exhibition, attendees can explore electric, hydrogen, and autonomous vehicles, along with key components and infrastructure, from companies like Tesla, Hyundai, Kia, Samsung SDI, GM, and the autonomous vehicle firm Autonomous a2z. In collaboration with SKT, the Korea Airports Corporation, and Hanwha Systems, Daegu has also organized a dedicated UAM (Urban Air Mobility) pavilion, where visitors can experience a life-size UAM simulator provided by SKT.
The West Wing hosts exhibitions on robotics, ABB, and the new Startup Arena. The robotics section includes HD Hyundai Robotics, ABB Korea, Fraunhofer IML, and Bear Robotics. It also marks the Korean debut of RoMeLa’s bipedal robot, ARTEMIS. The ABB section features leading tech companies such as SK, KT, AWS, LVIS, and ESTsoft, alongside an immersive experience with The Sandbox’s Apple Vision Pro and XR gaming content from Skonec Entertainment.
At the opening ceremony, Joon-Pyo Hong, the mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City, noted, “Today, industry boundaries are fading, with rapid shifts toward technological convergence. FIX 2024 is a specialized exhibition where visitors can witness the forefront of advanced industries driven by innovation.” He emphasized the scale of the event, with more than 400 exhibitors in this first year, highlighting the comprehensive conference and business programs involving over 80 experts from around the world, adding, “FIX 2024 will set a new standard for Korea’s technology expos.”
Mayor Hong expressed his aspirations for FIX: “I hope this event, beginning this year, will evolve into a world-renowned platform for applied technology, comparable to CES in the United States.”
