The “2024 Future Innovation tech eXpo (FIX 2024)” kicked off on October 23 at Daegu EXCO. As Korea’s largest innovation expo, FIX 2024 brings together cutting-edge technologies and industries in future mobility, robotics, and ABB (AI, Big Data, Blockchain) through an “Innovation Technology Integrated Platform.” This debut event features 463 companies and 2,071 booths showcasing innovations until October 26 (Sat).
In his opening remarks, Sung-Taek Park, the 1st Vice Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy, stated, “Congratulations on launching the first Future Innovation tech eXpo, FIX 2024, in Daegu, a city of freedom and vitality. The impressive array of participating companies, from world-leading future mobility pioneers to AI and robotics firms, reflects Daegu’s role as a hub of advanced industries in Korea.”
He added, “The fields of future mobility, ABB, and robotics showcased at this expo are fiercely competitive globally. Confident in Korea’s capabilities in technology, talent, and infrastructure, the government sees these fields as key growth areas, alongside semiconductors and secondary batteries.”
Vice Minister Park acknowledged Daegu’s role as a center for future industries, highlighting the region’s assets, such as the 250 IT and software companies at Suseong Alpha City, the forthcoming AI data center, the autonomous driving test site in Dalseong County, and the national robot testing field. “Seeing these preparations at the expo, I gained a deeper understanding of the vision shared by Mayor Hong Joon-pyo and other local leaders for Daegu’s role in Korea’s future,” he said. “The government is committed to supporting Daegu’s challenges and innovations.”
He concluded, “The government will actively support FIX 2024, helping it grow into an unparalleled expo, recognized not only within Korea but globally as a premier destination to witness the industry’s present and future trends.”
FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, exhibited AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo displayed industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Startup Arena” was introduced to facilitate meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
