TOFF Mobility (CEO Chanyoung Jung) announced its participation in the Future Innovation-tech eXpo 2024 (FIX 2024) at Daegu EXCO from October 23 to 26.

TOFF Mobility, an aviation mobility startup based on electric aircraft, is the first and only electric aircraft airline in South Korea. Within just a year of its establishment, TOFF has actively engaged in technical cooperation with global electric aircraft companies. It has introduced South Korea’s first electric aircraft while establishing the necessary certification system. The company has also achieved significant milestones, such as being selected by Korea Airports Corporation for business incubation, participating in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport’s electric aircraft pilot project, collaborating with local governments, and completing seed funding.

TOFF plans to start domestic tourism and pilot training businesses using electric aircraft next year. Additionally, the company is developing an aviation leisure platform called FlyEase, which will officially launch in November. The platform will allow users to easily book aviation leisure services and accumulate related data.

At FIX 2024, TOFF will introduce the electric aircraft era to local companies and citizens in Daegu, unveiling its phased business model. The exhibition will feature an actual electric aircraft. The aircraft is part of the rapidly growing aviation mobility sector, projected to grow 10% annually. The electric aircraft on display, South Korea’s first, was developed by Pipistrel Aircraft from Slovenia and is the first in the world to receive approvals from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

TOFF highlighted, “Electric aircraft are emerging as a solution to decarbonization, noise pollution, and high fuel costs. Each aircraft can reduce carbon emissions by 5.4 tons annually, and its noise level is just one-tenth that of traditional internal combustion aircraft.”

TOFF also announced plans to launch South Korea’s first electric aircraft tourism and training programs in 2025. Passengers will experience a new level of low-noise, low-vibration flight, distinct from conventional aircraft, and can enjoy early-bird benefits for initial bookings. Furthermore, TOFF will introduce a four-seater electric plane in 2025 and nine-seater models by 2027. The company will lead the electric aircraft market by offering comprehensive solutions, including aircraft distribution, infrastructure development, data collection, battery diagnostics, and maintenance.

FIX 2024 will feature specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing will showcase trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, will exhibit AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo will display industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Start-up Arena” will also be newly launched, facilitating meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
