At H2 MEET 2024, Festo aimed to showcase state-of-the-art automation solutions for the hydrogen industry, particularly for green hydrogen. As a major player in automation, Festo demonstrated how its pneumatic, electric, and control technologies could optimize hydrogen production, storage, and applications, enabling more efficient and sustainable energy systems. The company emphasized its role in supporting the transition to green energy by focusing on solutions for green hydrogen production.
A Festo representative explained, “In hydrogen electrolysis processes, Festo’s automation technology is critical in maximizing efficiency and precision. Our pneumatic and electric actuators and control systems ensure the stable operation of electrolyzers, which split water into hydrogen and oxygen. These components are designed to withstand the demanding conditions of hydrogen production and provide precise control and long-term performance.”
Regarding control valves, Festo offers high-precision proportional valves and pressure regulators suitable for hydrogen applications. These valves ensure the safe and accurate handling of hydrogen in its production, storage, and application processes. Festo’s control systems, equipped with real-time monitoring, ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest levels of safety.
The representative added, “Festo recognizes hydrogen as a new growth driver, significantly contributing to energy system innovation and global decarbonization efforts. Hydrogen is central to clean energy strategies, especially in mobility, energy storage, and industrial processes. The complex production, storage, and utilization of hydrogen demand precise and reliable automation solutions, and Festo’s technology is well-equipped to meet this demand.”
They further stated, “Festo provides tailored automation solutions across the entire hydrogen value chain. Our portfolio includes specialized pneumatic and electric actuators, proportional valves, and pressure regulators optimized for hydrogen applications. These components ensure the safe and precise handling of hydrogen in production (electrolysis), storage, and fuel cell technology. Additionally, Festo’s digital and control solutions maximize the efficiency and safety of hydrogen operations through real-time monitoring and intelligent control.”
H2 MEET is a specialized hydrogen industry exhibition for Korean and international companies and institutions involved in hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization. From this year, H2 MEET aims to become a professional event that will enhance participation from global hydrogen industry companies, generate tangible results, and contribute to understanding South Korea’s hydrogen economy ecosystem. Starting this year, it will be held in conjunction with H2WORLD and concurrently with the K-BATTERY SHOW 2024 and HARFKO (Heating Air Conditioning Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition—Korea) 2024 at KINTEX 1.
