Iljin Hysolus (CEO Sung Mo Yang) participated in H2 MEET 2024, held from September 25 to 27 at KINTEX, Goyang.
Iljin Hysolus has been developing solutions for storing, transporting, and utilizing hydrogen and other eco-friendly alternatives, shifting away from diesel to reduce pollution and improve fuel efficiency. The company has led projects to install emission reduction devices on outdated diesel vehicles, improving air quality. It is the first in the industry to mass-produce hydrogen fuel tanks for hydrogen electric vehicles, further promoting the global hydrogen economy.
At this exhibition, Iljin Hysolus showcased its hydrogen tanks, a key component of hydrogen electric vehicles. These technologically advanced products use non-metallic liners wrapped in carbon fiber composite materials to withstand up to 700 bar pressures. The tanks were introduced as they achieved high safety and lightweight performance through advanced composite materials technology. According to a company representative, the tanks passed regulatory tests and underwent additional rigorous in-house testing to prove their superior performance and safety.
Iljin Hysolus also demonstrated its capabilities in manufacturing optimized storage systems that meet various customer demands, drawing significant attention from visitors.
Moreover, the company showcased its ‘Type 4 Hydrogen Transport Tube Trailer,’ which has the highest capacity among gas hydrogen transport trailers in South Korea. This product, delivered to Jeonju earlier this year (three units), marked the first instance of commercialization. Compared to competitors’ Type 1 (steel) products, the Type 4 trailer offers 1.9 times the transport capacity, is 14 tons lighter, and is 2 meters shorter, providing fuel efficiency and space utilization benefits.
As a result, the H2 MEET organizing committee awarded Iljin Hysolus the ‘H2 Innovation Award 2024’, recognizing its products’ technological innovation and practical value.
A representative from Iljin Hysolus stated, “With the discovery of new natural gas sources and extraction methods increasing supply, our company is contributing to energy cost reduction and minimizing environmental impact by supplying innovative storage and transport systems. Specifically, through our award-winning Type 4 Hydrogen Transport Tube Trailer, we aim to accelerate the expansion of hydrogen infrastructure across the country, enhancing the competitiveness of the Korean industry.”
H2 MEET is a specialized hydrogen industry exhibition for Korean and international companies and institutions involved in hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization. From this year, H2 MEET aims to become a professional event that will enhance participation from global hydrogen industry companies, generate tangible results, and contribute to understanding South Korea’s hydrogen economy ecosystem. Starting this year, it will be held in conjunction with H2WORLD and concurrently with the K-BATTERY SHOW 2024 and HARFKO (Heating Air Conditioning Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition—Korea) 2024 at KINTEX 1.
