Micromeritics participated in ‘H2 MEET 2024,’ held from September 25 (Wednesday) to 27 (Friday) at KINTEX, Goyang.

Micromeritics is a global leader in providing high-performance systems that analyze particles, powders, and porous materials’ physical characteristics, chemical activity, and flow properties. With research centers and manufacturing facilities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Spain, the company offers a broad range of solutions covering surface area, porosity, density, powder flow, and catalyst efficiency. These products have been implemented in over 10,000 laboratories under companies, governments, and academic institutions worldwide, showcasing the company’s strong presence in the industry.

At the exhibition, Micromeritics presented various technology solutions for developing adsorbents, membranes, and catalysts. Their technologies and equipment are designed to enhance productivity in hydrogen production while reducing costs through optimized adsorption-desorption cycles.

The showcased models included technologies for measuring adsorbed carbon dioxide (CO2), maximizing catalyst activity and lifespan, and determining membrane pore sizes for optimized delivery and reactivity.

The solutions for hydrogen storage and application support the development of materials with specialized hydrogen adsorption characteristics and aid in determining critical parameters for evaluating adsorbents. The equipment also assists in assessing catalyst efficiency, maximizing lifespan and activity, optimizing fuel cell membrane pore sizes, and reducing costs by enhancing adsorption-desorption cycles.

A Micromeritics representative explained, “We are committed to R&D to provide the most comprehensive and high-performance portfolio for analyzing material characteristics for a sustainable future. Our equipment can be applied across the hydrogen lifecycle—from production and storage to application—and we aimed to showcase these solutions at this exhibition to accelerate relevant research for potential clients.”

The representative added, “Micromeritics has a unique vision for a sustainable and improved future, focusing on hydrogen economy, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), and the secondary battery industry. In line with this, we completed a merger with Malvern Panalytical last July, expanding our technical expertise into material and life sciences. We believe this will create positive synergies and provide a foundation for achieving global industry net-zero goals.”
