HD Hyundai Infracore participated in ‘H2 MEET 2024,’ held from September 25 (Wednesday) to 27 (Friday) at KINTEX, Goyang.
As an affiliate in HD Hyundai’s construction machinery division, HD Hyundai Infracore presented its advanced hydrogen engine technology and development roadmap to exhibition attendees, highlighting the potential of hydrogen as a next-generation power source.
At the exhibition, HD Hyundai Infracore introduced its 11-liter hydrogen engine ‘HX12’ designed for large trucks, and the 22-liter ‘HX22’ hydrogen engine used in generator systems. The company showcased its hydrogen engine product lineup, emphasizing its technology’s wide range of applications.
The hydrogen engines developed by HD Hyundai Infracore boast optimized performance, delivering higher output and torque percentages compared to overseas competitors. These engines are compatible with existing internal combustion engine platforms, making them suitable for retrofitting older vehicles.
During the exhibition, HD Hyundai Infracore also participated in the ‘Tech Talk’ session, where the company discussed the current state of its hydrogen engine development and plans for expanding the application of hydrogen engines.
Since initiating hydrogen engine development in 2022, HD Hyundai Infracore plans to begin mass production of hydrogen engines for trucks by the latter half of 2025. The company aims to start mass production of 11-liter hydrogen engines for power generation in 2025 and to develop high-power hydrogen engines by 2027, expanding their use to large trucks and specialized heavy equipment.
A representative from HD Hyundai Infracore stated, “Our participation in this exhibition allowed us to showcase hydrogen engines that are close to commercial use, thanks to continuous technological development and investment. We will actively develop products that can be applied across various industries to contribute to the transition towards a carbon-neutral society.”
H2 MEET is a specialized hydrogen industry exhibition for Korean and international companies and institutions involved in hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization. From this year, H2 MEET aims to become a professional event that will enhance participation from global hydrogen industry companies, generate tangible results, and contribute to understanding South Korea’s hydrogen economy ecosystem. Starting this year, it will be held in conjunction with H2WORLD and concurrently with the K-BATTERY SHOW 2024 and HARFKO (Heating Air Conditioning Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition—Korea) 2024 at KINTEX 1.
