PawDragon Company (CEO Dongjun Lee) has announced its participation in the upcoming ‘2024 PlayX4 B2B’ event, scheduled at KINTEX Hall 1 in Ilsan from May 23rd to 26th.
Established in late 2021, PawDragon Company is an indie game development team dedicated to creating captivating worlds for small protagonists. The team, consisting of four members, is working on its first mobile project, Nyangnyang Island: The Legendary Butler, aiming for an official launch in South Korea in August 2024.
The game integrates RPG elements and a robust storyline, showcasing PawDragon Company’s unique perspective and innovative approach. With this project, the company aims to develop games that are easily accessible and provide inclusive, relatable content that resonates with a wide audience.
To ensure a smooth launch and effective promotion, PawDragon Company participated in the Thailand Game Show, meeting with over ten international publishers and reaching positive agreements under NDA. Their involvement in the Smilegate-hosted Burning Beaver Indie Game Show also helped refine the game and receive validation for its gameplay. Following three rounds of CBT, the team has been continuously upgrading the system based on tester feedback, preparing for a successful soft launch.
By participating in this exhibition, PawDragon Company aims to introduce the appealing IP of Nyangnyang Island: The Legendary Butler and validate the newly upgraded game systems with potential users. They also hope to connect with publishers and various partners for future collaborations.
Nyangnyang Island: The Legendary Butler is a casual RPG set on an island inhabited by magical cats, featuring adventures and secrets. Players can care for and collect over 50 cats, each with unique concepts and characteristics, to create their healing retreat. The game also includes regional hunts to fend off threats to the island and a stadium for strategic competitions, adding to its appeal.
The game caters to players who enjoy casual healing play through collecting cats and mini-games and those who prefer strategic gameplay by setting detailed growth goals for each cat. In addition to the cute appearance of the cats, the game features in-depth stories and Easter eggs based on the unique traits of each cat breed, enhancing the immersive experience. Various offline events, including cat merchandise, are planned to engage players further.
PawDragon Company is also planning an international expansion, targeting countries with a high affinity for cats. They aim to attract potential users in regions like the Philippines and Singapore, where English communication is relatively smooth. Next month, a soft launch of the English version of Nyangnyang Island: The Legendary Butler will be conducted to test the game’s framework and direction. The company plans to expand to markets similar to South Korea, such as Taiwan, and countries with a high preference for collection RPGs, like Japan and China.
PawDragon Company stated, “We will finalize the game systems through feedback from potential users at the PlayX4 Expo and the last major CBT, accelerating preparations for the soft launch. We plan to conduct a soft launch in regions with low CPI, establish a solid monetization model through BM structure and in-app ads, identify and fix bugs, and analyze retention metrics for further improvement.”
They added, “Based on the soft launch data, we will proceed with the official launch in Korea, aiming to maintain retention rates through horizontal and vertical updates. Following this, we will focus on expanding our user base through a global launch.”
Hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by Gyeonggi Content Agency the 2024 PlayX4 B2B event will showcase new releases and experiences from domestic and international game companies under the theme “More than the Fun of Games.” The event will also feature side programs such as a retro market, e-sports competitions, and cosplay events.
