Lightning Games will showcase its shooting MMORPG game, The Lost Earth, at the 2024 PlayX4 B2B at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Ilsan from May 23rd to 26th.
Founded in Jeju, Lightning Games has developed and serviced games such as King Taepyung Story: Myth of Halla, the Front of Avarice: Double-Edged Sword series, PetPang, and Golden Island. They possess various infrastructures and systems for game development services, including 3D Graphic Integrated Shader technology, Unreal Engine Platform Services technology, and Multi-Partition Update technology.
Lightning Games CEO Lee Hoon-Ki, who also serves as the project manager, has developed AVA and serviced various games at Nexon, Webzen, and Neowiz. Most development team members are from Nexon, Neowiz, Webzen, and Netmarble. They have been using the Unreal Engine since its early days and have experience developing and servicing games with Unreal Engine 3 and Unreal Engine 4. They have conducted successful tests in China and Southeast Asia by creating games based on Unreal Engine 5 by the end of 2023.
‘The Lost Earth’ by Lightning Games has been planned for new development since 2020 to align with the trend of active loot shooting in the game market. Testing was conducted in China and overseas by the end of 2023 through Wangyue Network Group, and additional development is underway to address any deficiencies. They consider China, Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand the main investment destinations.
At this exhibition, they will introduce The Lost Earth, a shooting MMORPG game. Users can create costumes and parts using the ‘User Content Creation Platform. ‘ They can also contribute to the game by constructing bases and buildings through the building system. Moreover, they have applied a learning AI to monsters and NPCs, allowing players to enjoy different fun beyond the conventional patterned and standardized PVE.
Lightning Games stated, “‘The Lost Earth’ depicts a world where inhabitants defend their residences and survive against life forms mutated by a virus from a meteorite fallen from outer space. Various regions are central to combatting monsters and securing survival materials, leading to complex user interactions.”
This game’s battles between player versus player (PVP) and player versus environment (PVE) are crucial. Players can freely engage in battles in each region, and villages serve as safe zones where attacks from others are prohibited. Additionally, strongholds exist, and capturing them is one of the game’s main elements. Players can form clans to attack or defend strongholds.
Furthermore, various items and equipment can be traded inside game and web markets. Players can sell their items or purchase items from other players.
Hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by Gyeonggi Content Agency the 2024 PlayX4 B2B event will showcase new releases and experiences from domestic and international game companies under the theme “More than the Fun of Games.” The event will also feature side programs such as a retro market, e-sports competitions, and cosplay events.
