AJ2 Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Gil-soo) participated in CES 2024, the world’s largest IT and home appliance expo, held in Las Vegas, USA from the 9th (Tuesday) to the 12th (Friday, local time).

AJ2 is a company that has been independently developing IR-LED modules, a core component of iris recognition security systems, for over 25 years. These optical modules are highly preferred as high-efficiency systems that produce high illuminance with relatively low current.

In addition, AJ2 continues to strengthen its own iris recognition system development capabilities beyond a single module. Based on self-sufficiency in core components that provide superior functionality, AJ2 has implemented technology in its products to reduce sensitivity to external light and increase image capture resolution. The company explains that this has resulted in an improvement in the system recognition rate and is receiving positive reviews from end users.

Furthermore, AJ2 has improved the recognition speed of the system with technology using open source artificial intelligence (AI) software, and is also applying the AI iris recognition algorithm developed based on CNN deep learning to its products. While introducing products incorporating next-generation technology, AJ2 is also seeking the possibility of expanding its business into high-tech industries such as biomarkers for personal health check and driver concentration assistance systems.

In addition, we are working hard to secure networks with global optical technology companies. AJ2 is collaborating with Japan’s Tamron to jointly develop a face and iris recognition camera system for smart CCTV with a built-in 25x zoom lens, and the prototype product will be exhibited at the 2024 International Exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA in February. The plan is to reveal it at the ‘Security Conference and Expo (ISC WEST 2024)’.

Prior to this, AJ2 participated in CES 2024 and introduced its iris recognition system product line to global visitors, and as a result, announced that it met with potential customers and partners who were interested in collaborating and purchasing products at the exhibition site.

Gil-soo Jeong, CEO of AJ2, said, “Currently, attempts are being made frequently among various companies in North America to introduce new iris recognition systems that can be linked to enterprise resource planning (ERP) programs. Accordingly, we are using samples of our products. “We have received proposals from overseas ERP service providers who are interested in doing so,” he said.

“In addition, American medical device companies that develop and supply healthcare platforms also showed great interest in our products,” he said. “With our intention to add iris recognition solution functions to devices and systems that collect medical data, “As we showed an active attitude toward joint development, it was an opportunity to increase the possibility of overseas sales through various methods and fields in the future,” he said about participating in this exhibition.

Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is an exhibition where you can see the flow of innovative technologies around the world at a glance and is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 18 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 2006, and has been selected through ‘BEST OF CES’ and ‘BEST OF MADE IN KOREA’, which select the best innovative products, companies and technologies. has been in progress. In addition, CES on-site issues are vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
