KEVIT(CEO Oh Se-young) announced that it will participate in CES 2024, which will be held in Las Vegas, USA from Tuesday, January 9 to January 12, 2020 (local time) next year.
KEVIT provides a convenient electric vehicle charging experience based on its many years of experience in the domestic electric vehicle charging business and its capabilities in developing and operating its own solutions and services. We have systematic solutions for all stages of the electric vehicle charging life cycle, including manufacturing slow and fast chargers, building charging stations, and managing energy and operating charging stations through platform and app development.
At CES 2024, KEVIT plans to introduce an integrated solution of its flagship product, a 240kW electric vehicle fast charger and a 14kW slow charger and charger. The advantage of the KEVIT charger is its load balancing and DR (demand management) integrated solution. This solution was developed to solve the problem of slow charging speed and instability of the power system when multiple electric vehicles are charging at the same time or when there is a shortage of electricity in the grid.
The company explained that it adjusts the charging amount to reflect the state of the electric vehicle and controls the charging amount when DR is issued. Users can stabilize the power system by charging electric vehicles up to 57% faster and adjusting the charging amount by about 80% when DR is issued. . When power reduction is needed, such as during peak times or emergency reduction measures, immediate response is possible by incorporating the corresponding solution. The solution, which stabilizes the system and compensates for limitations by controlling demand, has already been tested and is being commercialized in Korea.
KEVIT currently owns and operates approximately 3,000 electric vehicle chargers in Korea, and has continued to grow since its establishment with more than 20,000 members. We are establishing a collaboration system with major domestic conglomerates and expanding charger operations to public facilities, office facilities, apartment complexes, and educational facilities. In addition, we have signed MOUs with Vietnamese and Turkic energy companies and are laying the foundation for distributing electric vehicle chargers to overseas markets.
In addition, KEVIT applies OCPP, an international standard communication protocol between chargers and servers, and its strength is that it has slow and fast chargers and integrated solutions that meet international standards that can be used around the world, and will be launched in June 2023. They announced that they have proven their technological prowess by acquiring the world’s first version of OCPP2.0.1.
An official from KEVIT said, “We expect that by participating in CES 2024, we will be able to promote our technology and solutions and secure a network to continuously expand the export of electric vehicle chargers and solutions. In addition, we expect to be able to expand the supply of chargers in the mid to long term through continuous promotion and activities along with creating brand awareness,” he said. “We are preparing to spread charging infrastructure to countries around the world by securing a network at this exhibition.” “We plan to lay the foundation for entering the global market,” he said, explaining the background to his participation in the exhibition.
“We are planning to launch new products in 2024, including a 300kW ultra-fast electric vehicle charger and a 50kW medium-speed electric vehicle charger. Through this, we will build a wide range of electric vehicle charger lineups from 7kW to 300kW and actively target domestic and overseas markets,” he said. “In the short term, we will expand supply by establishing a test bed for local electric vehicle charging infrastructure operation.” “In the mid- to long-term, we plan to actively expand and promote overseas business by establishing a global brand through the establishment of overseas branches and entering the procurement market in countries where branches are established,” he said.
Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is an exhibition where you can see the flow of innovative technologies around the world at a glance and is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 18 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 2006, and has been selected through ‘BEST OF CES’ and ‘BEST OF MADE IN KOREA’, which select the best innovative products, companies and technologies. has been in progress. In addition, CES on-site issues are vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
The CES 2024 Seoul Unified Hall will be operated at the largest scale in terms of exhibition area, number of participating companies, and number of participating supporters since Seoul City’s first participation in CES in 2020. The Seoul Integration Center, in which 13 organizations collaborate and participate, is an important step in Seoul’s efforts to make Seoul a mecca for startups, and 17 of the companies participating in the Seoul Integration Center proved this by receiving innovation awards. The participating institutions in the Seoul Unification Center are ▲SBA ▲Seoul Bio Hub ▲Campus Town ▲AI Yangjae Hub ▲Gwanak-gu ▲Yonsei University ▲Korea University ▲Chung-Ang University ▲Sogang University ▲Kookmin University ▲Hanyang University ▲Konkuk University ▲Kyunghee University. Not only the Seoul Metropolitan Government, institutions, and companies, but also supporters through industry-academia cooperation are matched 1:1 with companies, and 85 supporters, the largest number, will participate.
