Aall Korea Co., Ltd. (CEO Baek Jae-hyeon) announced that its integrated air conditioning system ‘MOFrest’ was selected for the CES Innovation Award ahead of the opening of CES 2024, the world’s largest IT and home appliance exhibition, to be held in Las Vegas, USA in January next year.
Established in 2018, Aall Korea is a company that has provided a variety of eco-friendly solutions in the air conditioning field based on ESG management philosophy. It is continuously growing its research and development capabilities in ventilation systems, new solvent materials, and energy solutions and is achieving commercialization.
In particular, MOF material, which is considered Aall Korea’s core technology, is attracting the attention of the industry, leading the company’s growth and selection for this innovation award. MOF is a porous adsorption material that has excellent atmospheric environment control performance and a unique structure by interconnecting various organic and inorganic materials through joints and linkers.
In particular, due to its property of being easily desorbed even from low-temperature heat sources, it can be regenerated solely from the condensed waste heat of the vapor compression cycle without consuming additional regenerative energy, and thus has the advantage of effectively reducing energy consumption.
Aol Korea has as its core competency an eco-friendly mass synthesis technology that uses only water as a solvent, rather than using solvents stored as hazardous substances such as DMF (Dimethylformamide) like the MOF synthesis method. The company explains that it achieved this award through MOFrest, which was designed using these technologies.
MOFrest is a HAVC system optimized for zero energy buildings and features functionality that efficiently handles indoor latent heat load. MOF, a solid adsorption material that combines the existing vapor compression cycle and solid adsorption dehumidification method, was applied, and for this purpose, Aol Korea applied a structure with large pores to the MOF to give it hydrophilicity. In addition, it adsorbs a large amount of moisture and allows the adsorbed moisture to be easily desorbed (regenerated).
The daily dehumidification amount of MOFrest exceeds 150 liters, and it exhibits an excellent dehumidification efficiency of 3.0 level. Accordingly, MOFrest mainly shows optimized performance for humidity control within buildings, but can also be widely applied to industrial dehumidifiers, smart farm environmental control, and outdoor air management systems (DOAS).
Kim Jeong-hwan, CEO of Aall Korea, said, “Thanks to the efforts of our executives and employees, we were able to achieve the valuable achievement of being selected for the Innovation Award at CES. “I am glad that through such an important opportunity, our MOF materials and products have been recognized for their optimality in the field of environment and sustainability,” he said, expressing his thoughts about receiving this award.
He continued, “I believe that this award confirms the marketability of the MOF technology that we developed with great effort over a long period of time, and we will go beyond innovation and grow into a technology company that contributes to a sustainable future for humanity.”
Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is an exhibition that provides a glimpse into the flow of innovative technologies around the world and is held every January in Las Vegas, USA. AVING News, which has covered CES for 18 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 2006, and has been selected through ‘BEST OF CES’ and ‘BEST OF MADE IN KOREA’, which select the best innovative products, companies and technologies. has been in progress. In addition, CES on-site issues are vividly conveyed through ‘AVING LIVE’.
