Famppy Co., Ltd., an IT and content company led by CEO Park Hyejin, has been undertaking various content projects to “provide customers with a new experience that connects reality and the digital world.” Leveraging their content database, they’ve developed an in-house technology called the XR Engine, surpassing 2D digital content to blend and produce 3D, AR, and VR content. They’ve created a web-based, no-code content creation tool and platform for sharing and monetizing XR content, integrating AI technology to enable easy and rapid content production and distribution, even for non-professionals. Their team, comprising top-tier in-house XR engineers and designers in Korea, mainly specializes in XR and the metaverse.
Recently, Famppy participated in the prominent startup event ‘GITEX Global 2023 – Expand North Star,’ the largest ICT exhibition in the Middle East and Africa. They made it to the semifinals in the ‘AI Disruptor’ category of the Supernova Challenge, a startup pitching competition organized by GITEX Impact, solidifying their competitiveness in international markets.

Famppy representatives said the company received positive feedback from on-site visitors and venture capitalists at international exhibitions such as CES 2023, ASU+GSV 2023, and VIVA Tech 2023. Riding on this momentum, they participated in GITEX Global, which boasted the most enormous scale in its history with over 170 countries, 6,000 companies, and 170,000 buyers and participants, aiming to showcase Famppy’s technology and services to the Middle Eastern market and VCs.
Famppy’s APOC platform offers an easy, cost-effective way to create, share, and monetize interactive content. Abbreviated from ‘A Piece of Content,’ APOC integrates Famppy’s self-developed technology, including AI and XR engines, enabling anyone to create hybrid 3D, AR, and VR content without requiring specialized design or coding knowledge. It’s a no-code, web-based XR content authoring tool that allows content creation through drag-and-drop methods and a few clicks. Moreover, with AI engine technology, users can generate desired content by simply inputting keywords, making content creation faster and easier.

A Famppy spokesperson explained, “Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increasing demand for non-face-to-face and interactive digital content in tourism, educational institutions, commerce, and entertainment fields. The demand for content incorporating 3D, AR, and VR technology is continuously rising beyond 2D digital content. However, creating such content requires specialized tools, and the environment for users to consume this content is lacking.”
They added, “Companies like Apple unveiling devices related to the AR and VR market indicate significant growth in this industry. It’s projected to become a $1.5 trillion market by 2030. In this scenario, the APOC platform has rapidly upgraded by incorporating AI technology, enabling non-professionals to create, distribute, and profit from content more easily. APOC functions as both an authoring tool and content distribution platform, allowing non-experts to create and distribute content.”

Famppy revealed that it was the only Korean startup among eight startups invited to a private meeting with Jason Derulo, the American singer-songwriter and entrepreneur, who is also an investor in startups. They shared that they received positive feedback and a warm reception during a meeting with senior officials from Dubai Internet City.
Moreover, in France, Famppy participated in VIVA Tech held in June as part of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government’s integrated pavilion. They interviewed two local French media outlets, a unique case where a Korean company represented the country in interviews with local media. Additionally, they participated in a Pitching Day organized by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government’s Science and Technology Promotion Agency, receiving positive reviews from local venture capitalists. Their booth also garnered significant interest in internship opportunities from local French university students.
