Kakao Mobility announced on the 24th that it will hold its first tech conference ‘NEXT MOBILITY: NEMO 2022’ online and offline at the COEX Grand Ballroom in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 10th of next month.
Kakao Mobility highlights the industrial expansion of mobility through this event. The plan is to present a new converged innovation paradigm together with global leaders.
A large number of Korea’s leading platform companies and startups, such as Woowa Brothers, Autonomous A2G, Thor Drive, and Lightning Market, along with large domestic companies such as LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, and GS Retail, will participate in the event.
Aurora, an American self-driving company that is attracting the most attention in the global mobility industry, and Volocopter, a German urban air mobility (UAM) specialist that successfully completed a flight demonstration in Korea last year, will also participate.
The event will begin with a welcoming speech by Ryu Geung-seon, CEO of Kakao Mobility, followed by keynote speeches by speakers leading the world’s mobility technology.
Chris Urmson, Aurora’s CEO, will share autonomous driving strategy and future vision. This is Chris Urmson’s first time officially attending a tech conference hosted by a domestic company.
Participating in the panel discussion will be Seungil Yoo, Chief Technology Officer of Kakao Mobility (CTO), who worked as a research engineer at Google headquarters, Chris Urmson, CEO of Aurora, Florian Reuter, CEO of Volocopter, and Ilpyeong Park, CEO of LG Science Park.
Ryu Geung-seon, CEO of Kakao Mobility, said, “We planned this event to realize Kakao Mobility’s vision of going beyond the mobility innovation that started with Kakao T and expanding the mobility area into technology-intensive industries through active technology investment.”
He continued, “We hope that this can be a venue for sharing insights with global companies that are advancing innovative technologies in various areas, and we will present mobility technology paradigms on various topics every year.”
