Nexon (CEO Lee Jeong-heon) and Raftel are the first in the content industry to provide user-tailored services based on data science by combining user pseudonym information.
Nexon announced on the 18th that it had combined pseudonym information with the animation streaming platform Raftel. Pseudonymized information is processed so that it cannot be identified by deleting or replacing part of it to prevent personal information from being exposed. It has a wider range of use because it contains more useful information than anonymous information.
This pseudonym information combination was carried out in collaboration with the Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency, an organization specializing in pseudonym information combination. Nexon and Raftel plan to use the combined pseudonym information to analyze user characteristics and develop and provide customized services based on this.
Nexon strictly complied with the Personal Information Protection Commission’s pseudonymous information processing standards in all processes, including processing, combining, and exporting pseudonymized information, eliminating the risk of re-identification of combined data. In addition, we have made every effort to ensure the safety of user pseudonym information through the operation of technical and management protection measures.
Nexon plans to use the combined pseudonym information to accelerate its competitiveness by strengthening data science, such as analyzing user characteristics in games and providing insights needed for game planning and development.
Bae Jun-young, head of Nexon Intelligence Labs, said, “This combination of pseudonymous data is the first attempt in the domestic content industry and is a new challenging area for us as well,” adding, “Nexon will strive to provide better game services based on more advanced data science in the future.” .” he said.
